  1. Cattermoles injured and limping, so pretty good so far
  2. The coming monday is one of my favourite occasions of the year. An almost neanderthalic celebration of beer, violence and manliness with a high expectation of injury and inebriation. It sounds horrible but at the end of every years event everyone celebrates and makes friends and we go back to our lives after an evening of feasting and drinking, it's kind of as close as we'll ever get to valhalla, and with the added benefit of not having to die. rather than type out a length bad description of it ill link the article for description and ask ; Any of you guys got any similar (or not) local traditions you enjoy taking part in? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bottle-kicking
  3. Leeds playing scummy as usual and should be down to 9 men after some criminal tackles. and yet with all the delays and treatment needed, only 3 mins of added time, mental!
  4. Completely forgot about Laura marling, absolutely adore her stuff, was nice to see the last album recieve a bit of commercial and critical attention as well!
  5. Got a efeling this is probably gonna be our hardest away game so far, with the change in football style and how were gonna need to adapt the formation based on absences. Still optimistic enough to go for at least a point, but think were deffo gonna be made to work for it
  6. She's no Sandy Denny or Diamanda Gallas I'm not gonna embarrass meself but i'll admit i have no idea who those ladies are (may have to give them a check out ) I'n all honesty (and this may be showing my youth here) but most of what i'd consider decent female vocalists/fronts persons faded out in the 90's - skin from skunk anansie or catatonia, hell even early gwen stefani in now doubt. Birds with a bit of presence and personality as well as the vocals to go with it. But my favourite artist of all time is kate bush, so what the hell do i know xD
  7. I personally cannot stand most female vocalist artists nowadays, mainly due to most of them all being the exact same bloody sound. That being said, Adelle has the 'big is beautiful' bandwagon behind her, meaning most criticism of her gets put down to being a chauvinistic misogynous asshole
  8. Happy birthday matey! x
  9. Ever think wed live in a time when that would be cause for concern?!

  11. Cheers fella, not all bad, just lay on the couch atm getting spoon fed ice cream atm to soothe me throat, silver lining and all! Also read about your ben arfa goal, when you signing up then?
  12. welcome to my world, been in bed for a week Sad times mate thinking about calling up tonight and leaving a message along the lines of 'proper fucked so unless i'm feeling better miraculously in the morning assume i aint gonna be in' dont wanna take the piss like as ive already been off on holiday today and yesterday, but no use to man nor beast in this state right now *cough*
  13. Wondering how i've managed to contract a cold after necking a small countries worth of vitamins through borocca at the weekend. First day back at work tomorrow and i can barely breath for coughing right now! Happy days :|
  14. Not at all buddy we were unaccompanied from anyone in the area and just completely winging it, and there were probably a lot more better places to hit out and visit! However considering we had such a short time to get ourselves sorted and get out there, and the fact in comparison to our local town (where most of the lads have rarely been outside of for more than a few hours) where there are 4 pubs full of pensioners and a half arsed 'nightclub' - even this potentially watered down toon experience was a great night for them! reckon next time i'll have to get one of me family members to come round and actually show us somewhere half decent! Bit of a trek from whitley bay like but i'm sure they wont mind
  15. More speculation about the pieters supposed done deal when he was tweeting support during the game today (course it could just be fellow dutch support) https://twitter.com/#!/_erik_pieters_
  16. The atmosphere translated to the TV viewing experience as well, but damn it must have been a great game to be at. Aye it was mate, voice is still raw as a dogs arse! haha! Specially towards the end of the 2nd half there was a good 5 minute period where we just continually were switching the play between the back 4 and wingers, every pass (semi jokingly and more to piss off the dippers i'd guess) greeted with a boom ole! taking the piss indeed! And i forgot one more thing, Perch's fucking slide tackles, bloke absolutely creamed one of theirs at the far end of the pitch during the first half, nearly took his damn legs off! I swear every game he just wins over more and more fans!
  17. Just back in and really could not be happier with the result. Missed pretty much all of the 'controversies' as a result of being at the opposite corner of st james'. Quick thoughts on the match from the day. Ben arfa was still as terrorising as ever against the defence (though not quite as effective as against brom) could tell that they just didn't know how to handle him, with full backs and centre backs pointing at eachother as he ran at them before eventually cutting into the middle, and his cross leading to the first goal was wonderful. I was seriously worried about the defensive situation pre-game, however besides a couple of scrappy clearances, and one instance when perch had the ball bounce and decided to do a couple of spins before realising it had appeared behind him they were solid. Liverpools only real threat came from looping the ball and occasionally having Carroll go up for it (in which case Williamson usually had him covered) and suarez trying to race in beyond the defence which was rarely worth his effort. Perch's block on their only real effort in the second half was amazing, and the way williamson was actually a threat in their end of the pitch was great to see. Though their sloppy passing really helped us out in the midfield, there was some great determination shown by the lads, chasing down balls and hounding passes (nicking the ball after they'd slid in to keep it going out to touch for example) Despite getting the main rub of the green we definitely deserved to win this match, and their entire afternoon was pretty much summed up late in the 2nd half where gerrard appeared for the first time in the game on the edge of our area, and put a high ball across into the area for suarez - who ducked out the way of it allowing it to go for a clearance. The look of frustration and pain as he turned in disgust and swore will provide a grin on my face for the rest of the night! And the fans were great, outstanding in volume and support! i actually almost began to feel sorry for the traitorous pair by the end of the game, and the one occasion the dipper fans mustered any kind of courage to risk a song, they were immediately drowned out by call and response chants alternating between the fans at the gallowgate end, and at the opposite end of the pitch - twinned with the match performance it was just a fucking awesome atmosphere to be in. Anyway, still hanging out my arse and rambling now, so time to go sleep and try to slip into the mrs (who after seeing cabaye in real life, now keeps daydreaming, tart!)
  18. Just got back from the 5 hour trip back down, and apart form being buzzing about the result, wanna say cheers for the drink hole suggestions. Some really enjoyable places that we went to - some more successful than others, Ouses was a great place, tyne bar was... interesting. Ended up in gothams which was fine except every song skipped continuously and it reeked of piss. Rounded off to union bar and then pop world before hitting yates's (whichw as dire) eventually settling in the mile castle for a decent length of time, before hitting some random club by the metro radio place up until the point that my dickhead scouse mate (who'd never been to newcastle before) vanished without telling anyone, had no money and his phone off. Eventually he turned up back at the hotel but not before we spent a good hour trecking round trying to find him. Percy arms was class and packed pre game and everyone we met throughout the night was top company - one of the highlights was walking past a topless bird and another bird grappling on the road outside fluid whilst everyone walked past unfazed, could tell by the look on me mates faces that they were shocked/aroused by the whole thing! xD Again, cheers for the suggestions guys on behalf of the fellas in my care, they had a great weekend,
  19. Cheers for the suggestions fellas. Percy looks mint, and ouseburn is a stones throw away from the hotel - so definitely worth a shout.
  20. Aye, mainly stotties and Corned beef pasties. Was astounded when i realised that nowhere else that has a greggs stocks them!
