Generalisation of opinions, ie people thinking when he has a cameo hes the reason we lose/draw. But you knew I meant that
-
Exactly. He gets a small cameo and THATS the reason we lose. Nevermind the complete shite that happened in the second half. Like him or not Ben Arfa creates chances (as well aa losing the ball a lot) so at least you know you'll get chances when hes on. But Pardew doesnt dare change his way of playing even when teams like Wolves are getting back into games against us so we'll never see enough of him and it looks like he'll have to leave since Pardew/fans have something against him for not the generic English grafter type

Nice to see Rangers overspending is allowing them to compete with Celtic on the field this season.

Was searching for the fair play rankings to see if we might get an extra through that (possible, but not probable) and the premier league fair play ranking came up. How on Earth are we bottom of the table? Be brilliant if England gets a fair play place and we have to take it up as the 20th team in our fair play table -
Are you not English!?

Bloody hell CT every time there's any news/quote/breath from Ferguson you're on it in a flash -
We're not as tactical/technical as Spain/the Netherlands like everyone says... so why not play up to it. As if the Dutch would know how to deal with us if we played strong and fast players and just tried to out physical them. Not saying play like Stoke but it's better than trying to outplay them. Especially after Capello's weird direct yet on the ground system which just baffled me

Delighted, got a 69 in my first 'proper' (ie one that's more than like 10% count) essay for Uni . One mark off a first and I thought I was doing shite, s'all about keeping it up when it matters though.

We sold 650,000 in 1996, more than the England shirt, the same as Liverpool, only Man Utd sold more. That was an outstanding shirt though. They're still going on eBay for about £70. There's a lot to be said for quality kit, better than the shite that Puma pumps out! Bring back Adidas and bring back the 95-97 shirt design! My first shirt, what horrible material, nice design though. Never want adidas back because the material was gross. Besides I like this seasons -
Newcastle United v Wolverhampton Wanderers

You'd seriously prefer Ferguson over Ben Arfa and Raylor? (agree with him over Onlyran though) -
You just didn't realise how successful they were in that period which is fair enough but quit while you're behind, eh? I really did, I just think their crowds were larger than they should have been. Barca being the other example. One of the most successful clubs of all time, but their fan base has always been huge. Theyve always been successful, but usually in Real Madrids shadow. I know its a shite point to make while they have the best team in the world but look at their pre 2005ish history and say that warrants 90kish crowds. Barca's a similar situation to Newcastle in terms of importance to the local culture etc, and they show what could happen if we actually won more.
-
It is compared to the crowds they were getting, im not denying the brilliance of our fans and ive spent a lot of time in the city so im not some random ooter who's come on giving it the big 'un while not appreciating the importance of the club. Just saying other clubs are also well supported through shite. Also, my local team plays in the conference and they usually play against around 1000 away at shite like Bath. They go away to Luton and they get 6-7k which for 5th tier is unbelievable
-
When were Man Utd wank like? They had one season in the old Division 2 and got promoted with a young, exciting team. They went about 30 years without winning the title but they won numerous trophies in that time. Aye thats 30 years not winning the title whilst still maintaining Englands highest crowds. People want to see top football and an occassional FA Cup win just isnt anywhere near constituting a 'top side'. Especially as this was in an era of dump sides like Derby winning an odd league title here and there. Point being you have to give em credit where it's due.
-
To be fair we're not a lone soldier in terms of brilliantly supported teams despite winning fuck all. The Chicago Cubs havent won a World Series since 1908 and are still well supported, Man Utd always had the highest crowds in England even through the years they were wank and in Division 2 etc., then theres teams like Green Bay Packers and Barca who are as much a part of the local identity as Newcastle. If Barca went down to Adelante theyd still get the biggest crowds in European football imo, similar situation with the Packers, mostly idiotic fans with shit cheeses on their heads but if they went through a lengthy rebuilding process theyd still sell out every game. Its all subjective but Leeds definitely arent in the group of teams with brilliant fans.

Shane Ferguson tearing apart international opposition
CleeToonFan replied to Christmas Tree 's topic in Newcastle Forum
It's good for cricket and rugby but I like them both having one for football, it's always been that way and just feels right. It is however problematic the way loads of Northern Irish support the Irish team (do any idiots support England or Scotland just to prove how Unionist they are?) Anyway it's good that Ferguson has decided to play for the right team, but he probably wouldn't get into the Republics side anyway (cue a gunshot noise being heard around CT's home) -

Aye, it should be done purely on geography, the same way I couldn't decide to play for Scotland all of a sudden. That said you do get some stupid reasons, once met a Rangers fan who thought "if they don't want to play for Northern Ireland but want to play for the Republic we should ban them from our football, if our national teams aren't good enough then our leagues aren't good enough ". Mind you that was countered by some Celtic idiot saying that there should be only one Irish national team and they should ban protestants. Funnily enough neither of them debated about football... -

So if we go through to the groups, then we will earn around 1.5mill euros for coming like 1st/2nd in the groups? Depending on attendances (doubt they'd sell out for Europa but would still be good) Could easy get a fair few million for playing in the Europa League, especially if we get to the later stages. Can easily see the differences in qualifying and not. -
I didn't even realise I had provided two, I should've given 20, just to save my back
