Sunderland v Newcastle 20/08/2011 prediction
CleeToonFan replied to I ♥ Daddys Cock's topic in Newcastle Forum
Uefa considers it as the Uefa Cup predecessor, and the Uefa Cup is the Europa League predecessor . But don't let facts get in the way of bias right? Back when we both won things the FA Cup was massive, not what it is now, so yes it was important. We've played in the Champions League and the Uefa Cup and nearly won the Premier League, hardly "shite" history, and even if you're going at the most extreme, our history wuold be very similar, thus you're calling your history shite too! That's like a Braintree fan calling a Wrexham fans league "shit" (they're both in the conference premier for you of no knowledge). -

Clueless. If you actually seen the match then we were well worth a point. Your game against Arsenal was shite, you were turd but Arsenal were worse than turd. They've a poor team this year without Nasri and Fabregas, You's are shite, you haven't won a major trophy since the 50's and you haven't won a league title since the 20's. We won the Inter Cities Fairs Cup in '69. You absolute whopper. Would that be the prestigous European Competition where some of the teams couldn't even be arsed to turn up? They've played four (yes, FOUR!) European matches in their entire history you know And you've won four (yes FOUR!) league titles in your entire history you know. Since you seem to know everything about Newcastle, I decided to learn about Sunderlands major honours. I see you're quite proud about your history, so I thought i'd compare our winnings, fair enough? Everything that's won will be referred to by it's modern name, for ease. Newcastle-4 "Premierships", 6 FA Cups, 1 "Europa League= 11 Honours Sunderland-6 "Premierships", 2 Fa Cups= 8 Honours We're so shit and you're amazing -

Which other players have excited you by giving you flashes? Ian Dowie
-
course he can, lawrenson and Hanson dont bother not being biased, Shearer tries too hard not to be and ends up bitching about us every time. hes an absolutely shocking pundit and Barton was absolutely right about him with the shirt shoes and views comment. Aye I agree he's a shocking pundit. The problem is, he's no doubt a club legend, but let's pretend he had nothing to do with Newcastle and acted like he is doing now, I think i'd hate him based on his punditry, luckily I keep giving him the benefit of the doubt but it is getting annoying.
-
Is it just me who's getting tired of Shearer on MOTD? Why's he got to slag Newcastle off ALL the time? I appreciate he can't be biased but he's taking the piss a bit, complains about Newcastle EVERY show. Also this guy on 5 live now saying Fergie should have done more for Man United :').
-
I didn't think he was too bad tbh. You can't have expected too much of him, like most people agree with the first game in England etc etc, but if the flashes he showed are to go by, i'm quite excited by him.

We finished higher so proves we were the better team overall Well in that case, i'm not doing a prediction on the score but I do say we'll come above you in the league -
Is he better than what Enrique was at 22 It's hard to judge to be honest mate. I rate him a lot but Enrique was playing for Newcastle in the Premier League at 22, and the Premier League is better than the Eredivisie. Probably not, but I don't think he's too far off. Even if he isn't as good, he's a Dutch international so 7 million is a decent price tbh (that said, Anita is probably the only other left back the Netherlands have, and I don't really rate him at all).
-
Like I said earlier, I do watch a lot of Eredivisie (always on ESPN plus I watch many games online), and he's a good player if a little incomplete, he won't be as good as Enrique now but given a few years I think he can be just as vital to us as Jose was.

FourFourTwo has us coming 12th/13th I think, will have to look back through it, I ended up agreeing with most of what they predicted.

-----Krul----- Simpson-Coloccini-S.Taylor-Jonas Obertan--Barton----Tiote--Marveaux Cabaye Ba Did someone say Marveux can't play? Because if he can i'd imagine that to be the best lineup we'd have, only ever seen Cabaye once or twice but he always seems to be good at AMC. Maybe we could try Vuckic at LM? He's had a good preseason and i'd take Jonas playing LB, he's admittedly wank at defending but at least he'd have the pace to keep up with Gervinho/Walcott and could create problems closing them down. -
I can probably sort you out with 2, maybe 3 tickets as I wont be able to go with it being a midweek. I went 2 year ago when we lost 2-1, Hundreds of geordies drinking in Frankie and Bennys! If you can it'd be brilliant mate! I'd only need 2 but that'd be perfect. Aye i'm from Grimsby so naturally not a big fan of that tin ground of theirs.

Aye. See Celtic and Rangers imo two scummy clubs which should have fuck all to do witrh Northern Ireland. They have some good fans both of them, but the actual division of both by sectarianism is shocking. Less so with Celtic because on the face of it they welcome all, whereas you would not be made welcome supporting Rangers if you are openly Catholic which incidentally I am. In terms of NI and ROI it's the same principle, although I get the impression in NI there's more prods support Rangers than catholics who support Celtic, cos a lot of them perhaps half are bigoted cunts. Rangers are seen like an extension of Unionism and being an Ulsterman imo in Northern Ireland, and to be fair it brought it home last night listening to the commentary of the paddy I forget his name Hugh some cunt, some Irish name. When Steven Davis scored "fabulous goal Rangers marrrn Shteven Davish, yet when McCourt scored nee mention of Celtic. I'm not saying this as a catholic who feels victimised, I want nothing to do with NI, fuck them off, drain on our taxes, I feel the same about Scotland and particularly Wales, but you have to be honest there are still some deeply ingrained ignorant views in all walks of life over there, a lot of which even I don't understand, so what hope has some little mug from Skegness got of understanding it. Every post you've made in this thread has made you look a tool, especially your views on wearing other countries shirts who we've been at war with in the last 30 year. Wait, was that aimed at me? I don't get it? I'm a tool because I would wear a football shirt because of players instead of politics? If I had worn a Jonas Argentina shirt would it be bad? No Newcastle player plays for England after all, and Newcastle are more important to me than any national team will be. Look, i'm no protestant, and i'm agnostic so believe we shouldn't have any religion as a "national" religion per se, and I only dislike Celtic because i've seen more bigots in the Celtic camp than the Rangers camp, I admit I spoke wrong when I said I wore a Norn Iron shirt because of Celtic, as I corrected earlier that's not the case, I was just saying that Celtic fans opinions against norn Iron for no reason annoys me, and to be honest if I was to care deeply about SPL I wouldn't support either of the clubs. But tell me again, what's wrong on wearing a football shirt purely based on football? I don't think football should be politicised so i'm a little mug? I'm literally confused at what you're trying to say.

As anyone might be able to tell this draw has delighted me . I don't know if away tickets will be hard to get to this game seeing as we'll get few tickets, but if so is tehre anyone who can sort me out with tickets? Is there anyone else who's off too?
-
Hardly, one mention as opposed to loads of me mentioning otherwise. I live in Cleethorpes... theres about 2 Celtic fans I know, it's not as if I have loads to annoy and it's worth getting a shirt, but I do like annoying them anyway, obviously joking around and that but i'm not backtracking. Apologies that semantics let me down... I didn't buy a Norn Iron shirt to annoy Celtic fans, but I do like to annoy Celtic fans, happy now or are you going to let your clear bias against Northern Ireland get in the way of that? Bias against northern ireland? you do realise i'm from and live in Belfast right? Didn't you say earlier you didn't want Norn Iron to win if they were in a WC Final? Many people from Belfast support the Republic, look at the players that fuck off to play in Dublin. yup because i wouldn't want to have to listen to supporters gloating, not really bias, just would be a pain in the balls personally. Yeah look at those fuckers that have decided they don't want to listen to chants of "we're up to our knees in fenian blood" ....what are they thinking!, i mean it's not like anyones been getting death threats latel....oh wait hang on. As opposed to the English based players even staff who have been at the republic in some shape or form, did ya ever hear McAteer/Charlton etc getting abuse like that from fans? let alone their familes having cars burnt out or graffiti scrawled on a wall. Long and the short of it is, in the north the football was and is still (ok not /as/ bad but still happens) pretty hostile, and like i said because you've absolutely no experience of it or anything over here in general you can't get that, but down south it's a lot more like the rugby, there's just less agro and bigotry. And asides from that the republic (debating aside) are just a better option for international careers so that probably gives it the final nudge. Honestly would you go for northern ireland if you had the choice and knowing there's a risk if you miss a peno or have a bad game of your parents house getting a petrol bomb through the window or a bullet in the post? while a large % of the fans your playing for would be happy to see you keel over midmatch then have a sing song about it, you'd be a mug if you did imo. May seem stupid, but I think I would play for Northern Ireland over the Republic, if only because whenever I watch the Republic (everything aside, I wish the Republic, Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland all the best when not playing England) the atmosphere never seems anything good, and as long as you keep quiet and don't disclose any religious/political views they're gnot gonna give you grief about it I understand what you're saying but the fans of the Republic of Ireland always look shit to me, admittedly i've never been to the Aviva Stadium, but it's like Wales, surely you can't get too proud of playing in front of half filled stadiums (with Windsor Parks smaller capacity duly noted). My brother was working in Carrickfergus last year and I was genuinely surprised just how the religious and political problems are over there, but still, if I was born in Northern Ireland, i'd want to play for them ahead of the Republic.

Why do people still think i'm wearing it to wind people up? I never said that! Fuck me. Besides, I don't agree with your opening paragraph, Clint Dempsey is my favourite football player and I have a lot of respect for the way the players seem to fight for their shirt in America, hence me having an America shirt. I have a Northern Ireland shirt because I like their fans, team and fact they have an impressive history despite being a small nation. Anyway, they are British, and England technically isn't a sovereign nation, so if you only care about "home country" that'd be true. I also have an England shirt, but due to disliking most of Englands players i'm not the biggest England fan on earth, of course I want England to win when they play in tournaments but it plays a second role to club football every day of the week. As for your Argentina thing, I disagree too, people need to stop politicising football, if someone loves Lionel Messi et al it doesn't mean they can't show an affinity for the football they play purely based on the fact the United Kingdom (key word, not England) went to war with Argentina 20 years ago and that tensions still run high. If I like a football team based on football i'd happily wear a shirt. Similarly, I hate Italian football and would never wear an Italy shirt, but I have absolutely nothing against the Italian state.

Nothing but respect for the club, wasn't at Home Park that night but it looked amazing the way your club put on a show for us , will sign it for you, good luck with it and with your season in League 2.
