  1. If Perch can do a job in DM I wouldn't necessarily put it past Santon, as long as he keeps things simple on the ball.
  2. Aye because we've already been overspending so much recently
  3. People keep saying Ashley wants to spend as little as possible but over the last 5 seasons, due to sourcing value and negotiating well, we've made £45 million profit on transfers, £9 million a season. You can only do that if you actually buy players in the first place. How much profit can we make on the players we've signed this season? I'd imagine Ashley would be disappointed we failed to find any potential future profitable assets and has asked him to resign, that's more likely than hiring a very expensive patsy with a massive gob. If you were going to hire anyone to take the heat, why someone who at any moment could get pissed up, snap, ring talksport and tell the world what you're up to?
  4. Your choices are: Carry on going and enjoy the day out at the football for what it is, and try to ignore the long term problems Sack it off and just watch it on the tv, and try to ignore the long term problems -He isn't going to miss you that much Get really wound up and write some really stern messages on some internet message boards about how this time you really have had enough, then ultimately do nothing Actually go on a protest with about 30 others, waste your time and energy and give MA a good chuckle
  5. Never gonna happen troopy and even if it did, simply won't happen on a big enough scale to bother him. Not even sure if that scale exists.
  6. Aye as I said, 'realistically'. That low a crowd just isn't ever going to happen with us in the premier league.
  7. Couple of film site previews reckon its looking quite good apparently, can't help feeling they're building it up just to etc... etc...
  8. Can still enjoy the day in isolation, you just have to try not to consider the long term meaning of it all. Realistically you're never going to get a situation where he's losing enough money through reduced turnout to make him change his strategy.
  9. Another hesitation in a key moment there, gets into good areas then like a rabbit in the headlights when he has to make a decision.
  10. Wonder if he'll get to take their set pieces?
  11. Think expectations of the price were raised by the £25 million valuation put about by us, and he was probably worth that much to us, but I think objectively as a supporter of another club around £20 million is about right. Interesting to see he's only on a 3 year contract, free transfer back to us as a 31 year old please
  12. Doesn't sound like he's willing to kick off to force a move either so would be quite surprised for this to go through now after 2 rejections.
  13. Surely Kinnear's role is more in approving targets, rather than doing the actual negotiating? Surely they have someone with a history of doing high stakes negotiations as a head/chief of negotiations? Haven't heard anyone mentioned as that for us but heard of it a few times for other teams
  14. Very good in the masterpiece that is 'Drag Me to Hell'
  15. Had another one of his long hesitations today but that's nitpicking, very good performance.
  16. Loyalty is a two way street that has to be earned and developed, mad to think anyone would be loyal in that situation. Know nothing about the careers of those 2, but what reasons have we given Cabaye to say 'No, I must remain loyal to this foreign club I've been at for a couple of years who are undoubtedly below the level I should be playing at and are showing no ambition to reach that level!' We cheered him I guess. I know if I were in his position (assuming I was a non-Newcastle supporting Frenchman) I'd be grateful to the fans for their support, but straight on the next flight to my Champion's League chasing, title winning world class team mates and flicking through the few multimillion pound section of RightMove for something to splash my doubled wage packet and signing on bonus on back in the capital of my home country. If you were going to be annoyed with Cabaye for a lack of loyalty, you should be annoyed with him for leaving Lille after 7 seassons when they've just won the double.
  17. Why should he be loyal to us? If a player loses form they're soon turned on by the fans and you don't often see clubs give under performing players contract extensions. Can completely understand any footballer without long term ties to a club (e.g. childhood supporter or raised through the youth system) making the moves which are best for their own interests.
  18. Anyway very good player, really enjoyed having him here and wish him all the best for the future. Can forgive him the not playing incident for his attitude and form since.
  19. Call me cynical about the actions of modern football agents/negotiators, but I'm fairly sure he'd be made aware of the interest one way or another regardless of how quiet or loud the club wanted to be about it.
  20. Maybe now you can finally buy a house you bum!
  21. So what? Wouldn't be the first time someone has said things like this as a negotiating tactic
  22. We've been told several times what our aims are and our transfer policy has been the same since promotion, he'd only be repeating what we already know.
  23. We've plenty of options in the middle, Cabella seems like he'll be easier to get in the summer, there's no chance of top 4, so why would they spend more than they want to get a replacement now?
  24. How's Bigi been doing recently, anyone been following the reserves? WIll be nice to see how he's developing should he get more game time post-Cabaye.
