Cheers all. Things should hopefully be starting to get back on a more even keel now, but it's been a strange old time. In the meantime I'm thinking ice cream for breakfast might be the way forward.

My mam's not been well so I'm heading home tomorrow night for a bit of family time over the weekend. "Old people get older" shouldn't come as a surprise but somehow it always is a bit when it's family.

May has taken the aforementioned toll on me as expected, and I'm currently hovering back around the 80kg mark. Not bad all things considered, and I hit my first ever sub-25-minute 5k in Edinburgh on the 9th before the excess began , but I want to push on over the summer and actually get sustainably into the mid-70s for the first time ever. Which will probably mean not buying bag after bag of Maoam Pinballs from Family Bargains. Life is unfair.

The wheat beer one is canny as far as I'm concerned (though Erdinger's is better), the regular Bavaria "lager"... not so much. (But aye, being served ice cold is crucial in any case...)

Bloody FIFA, pandering to the Asian market with their kick-off times.

Who ever said a University education made you clever. EDIT: Hang on, Wenger's got an economics degree.

One of the good guys. Would have been interesting to see where things went if he'd stayed in charge.

Realised this morning that I sent my card wallet through the washing machine yesterday. Maybe the Gemmill approach isn't so bad after all.

Some of it's really not bad these days (some is utter piss, mind!), certainly does the job if you need the crutch of a beer bottle in your hand and the taste of the drink, which I still do if it's a nice sunny day or the match is on or I'm getting excited about the Eurovision voting or whatever. Old habits die hard!

Speaking of which:

There's someone behind me on this nightbus singing "Steve McClaren's black and white army", over and over but very softly, occasionally interspersed with "Dennis Wise's black and white army".

Way back in the mists of pre-Eurovision time, I went to a wedding in Edinburgh. Two Geordie ex-pats tied the knot, and so instead of a wedding cake:

I didn't

Thanks all. You're smashing.

The Marveaux comeback begins here. Be still, CT's throbbing button mushroom.
