I've recently started watching the first series of 24, which is currently being shown on some obscure satellite channel (FX, I think). Then promptly managed to miss the second episode. I don't suppose anyone who knows more about this kind of thing than me would happen to have/be able to find a link to a decently populated torrent of the episode or even (god forbid) a direct download or anything? I can't seem to find anything usable, probably because searching for the number "24" is about as easy as trying to download the back catalogue of the band "A"...

Meenzer blatantly seduced by the thread title. Hey, it sounded like a good offer.

I thought it was just a random Negro spiritual? Also, is there a game on tonight or something?

Be daft not to really. At least she limited it to seven. Though what price a series of "ten years on" etc. novels, Adrian Mole-style...

Seemed like a nice fella, certainly always gave me a laugh on his Radio 4 shows and the like. RIP.

Wot no "Or you can nick it if you're a Scouser"?

"Insane Japanese Exercise Video" Does exactly what it says on the tin. Though "strangely unnerving" might be more fitting than "insane".

Still desperately short of match fitness. I was listening to the Russia match on the radio, heard his name mentioned about twice I think. Mind you, you could barely hear anything down the crackly phone line they appeared to be using...

Finally got round to downloading "In Rainbows". Canny enough so far.

I was indifferent towards '94 until my parents foolishly went on holiday, leaving me to adopt the unhealthy sleep patterns that have stalked me ever since - and, specifically, to be witness to this: Pure class. I've always been a sucker for the underdog - I genuinely wasn't sure who I wanted to win out of Cameroon and England in 1990, having fallen in love with the former right from the moment they started drop-kicking the Argies in the opening match - so having the Saudis around was excellent. And then Sweden kicked into gear and my mother's genes took over. Who needs the home nations anyway?

And NP Cricket. Unless that's just me?

Workload permitting, I might just take you up on that! Although I suspect the lunch options there will just about stretch to a Boots Meal Deal or something lovingly microwaved by the Eastern Europeans behind the bar at one of the Wetherspoons-a-like drinking establishments. Mind you, after three weeks in Foreign you might be gagging for some pub grub... We can just go to the pub then Clearly the best way to ensure high-quality translations for the rest of the afternoon. I approve!

That's the trouble when it comes to London, by the time you've schlepped all the way out to Heathrow, Gatwick or Stansted and waited around after checking in in good time, you might as well have taken the train in the first place... Good way to wind up carbon footprint-obsessed friends though. I'm flying out from Gatwick next week and mulled over various options of getting there. It'll now take me about an hour on the plane from Newcastle. And my carbon footprints are going to be all over Africa in the next month Aye, if you're flying on from there and you can get a decent enough price with Jet2, it's always worth going for that and avoiding the hassle of getting from Kings Cross over to Gatwick. Although I'd have come to the station and waved as your train zoomed past.

Well after all that, I've shifted my dates and got a halfway decent train fare after all. Sorry for the panic. Will be in town for the Derby match too. Early start for drinkies mind.

San Marino just scored the second goal of their entire campaign to pull it back to 1-2 against Wales. Cue a male voice choir rendition of "What the fuck is going on?" from the stands.
