  1. Cheers for the info Gemmil, but seeings as I'm a st*dent I'll stick with what I have for the time being! Not exactly a big roller, happy to keep making small profit off the $5 10-manners for the time being, last of the big spenders I guess. Surely it can't be long before someone designs some good software for us on a Mac? Surely....?
  2. Haven't looked through this thread for a while, but got a quick question for anyone else who plays on Macs, what sites are available to us now? I use Pokerroom out of preference over Full Tilt, and quite like it, but are there any more options? Also is there any software that's any good? I use sharkscope as a site, but is there anything else that might help me?
  3. I know that Bono is good, but there's something about him that just doesn't let me like him. I don't know what it is, but he drives me up the wall!
  4. Quoted for truth. and again. ps. If you like U2, ch4 this morning, 11am, their concert from Milan. I'm watching, but I'm not impressed. A lot of their songs sound the same.
  5. 41. Greatly helped by 14 marks from the 'untouchables' and teams punished in Italy questions.
  6. Aye. I class the Mail as the worst paper going tbh. By some distance. I never really feel I can say it though, given that the girlfriends mum has been reading it for years, it'd be similar to me saying "Oi, you know your mum, she's got shit opinions".
  7. You should read 'In Cold Blood' by Capote which is class (recommended by resident phillistine Gemmill believe it or not). It's nowt like Breakfast... though. I tried 'Midnight's Children' once. Couldn't be arsed. I mainly want to finish it to prove I'm brighter than my mum, who never could! Enjoyed Breakfast... enough to browse through Capote's body of work, will look that one out next I think, cheers.
  8. Recently read Breakfast at Tiffany's by Capote, much shorter than I expected, but thoroughly enjoyable. Currently reading Midnight's Children by Rushdie - I sort of read it in fits and starts as it's fairly intimidating, and a bit hard going! Going to start 'A short history of tractors in Ukranian' as a side project for when I need something a little less demanding.
  9. Travelling around Europe for a month.
  10. Jan-Ove Waldner. Reckoned to have done more for the progression of the game than any other.
  11. Monty for me. No-one has really done anything noticable for me, and I spend an embarrassing amount of time watching SSN, but Monty has made a real connection with the England fans, the Barmy Army love him. I bet he's stopped at least some people thinking that men of asian descent only wear turbans to hide their bombs up them as well. Legend tbh. Not influenced by the fact I've got a fiver on him at all!
  12. Joanna Newson - Ys. Obviously.
  13. Just looked this thread up. At work I couldn't read a number of pages because their "wighted phrase score" was above 150, usually around the 200 mark. I tried clicking on this thread and it was over 30,000. I wonder why...?
  14. Shearer's against Everton was better. It didn't rely on the keeper fucking up for it to be a goal - as well as Alonso hit it, if Harper hadn't fallen over it would have been saved easily. Great strike, but fooking lucky nonetheless. Whatever anyone had done about Shearer's strike against Everton, it still would have been a goal. Factumundo.
  15. Nothing better than a reheated takeaway for lunch, particularly Pizza when hungover. On the way back from a night out, I have been known to buy a cheap pizza and put it all in the fridge for the next day. A bit of planning never hurt anyone.
  16. I doubt we'll see that big a change just because of Given, I see Bramble's absence as more significant in that regard. Would be interesting though although Harper isn't a patch on Given imo. Granted we probably won't see that much of a difference, as it was clearly Bramble who was the biggest culprit, but what would make it interesting - if it were to happen - is that fact it would leave Roeder with a dilemma. The better keeper, or the one who makes us play better football?
  17. Might help as Harper is definitely better at kicking than Given, although I blame Babayaro (at least partly) for the kick which nearly resulted in Bowyer scoring. It was a dodgy pass to Given and then Babayaro never made an angle for a return pass. True. However, it could be a very interesting situation if, as a result of improved distribution, we start playing better with Given out of the team than in the team. One to think about.
  18. Did amazingly well to keep them up in his first season. Find it hard to imagine him as a thinker, or any great tactitian
  19. Interesting how people who I thought had disowned him, and never wanted to see him again are still happy to carry his name. Of course no-one would know who they were otherwise...
  20. I wonder how the probable absense of both Given and Bramble from the next few matches will affect this. Given's distribution was probably the worst thing about our performance yesterday, particularly in the first half when he mishit 3 or 4 kicks, one almost resulting in a goal.
  21. Martins is far superior to Tevez anyway. You can tell that because he played better that him yesterday, and his infinity times as many goals than him in the Premierhip.

Emre was excellent yesterday, MOM I thought, looked more willing to run with the ball and beat people than usual and worked his socks off in midfield. I agree with the original post about playing Milner, I thought both the wingers played well yesterday, although Duff looked a touch reluctant to go round the outside of his man. Milner had a very good game though, high work rate and a willingness to try and get to the byline. Having said that, I would consider bringing Butt in for Emre, despite his performance yesterday, for the Liverpool game.
  23. Whatever you sy about Harper and his ambition or lack of it, I'm not sure there are many better back ups in the prem. Cudicini springs to mind, but he seems to have had a couple of howlers on the rare occasions he's played since Cech arrived. Maybe Kuzschak at ManU I guess. It's quite nice to know there is a back up of a highish standard should anything happen to Shay.

    bramble

Just looked at Birmingham's back line - it depresses me that I'm looking at a partnership of Jaidi and N'Gotty and thinking that they may be an improvement on what we have.
