  1. Never listened to these before - I thought they were a lot lighter? Almost pop-like? Anyway, I'm liking this so I'll take a look at these further. Cheers for the heads up.
  2. I had something similar this afternoon in the car with Matthew (3.5yrs). Matt asked for 'Bill Ghost' on. He means Ghost by Slash & Ian Astbury, he thinks the first verse is: Bill, the Ghost, That hides, in your's toast, Rock, Roll I cant listen to it any other way now. Anyway, after I told him I couldn't because we were in Grandads car Matt responded "Daddy, when I get bigger, I want a guitar and play like you and Slash" I had a massive smile on my face. Didn't have the heart to tell him I'm not fit to lace Slash's leather chaps like I supposed I'd better get practicing before he realises I'm shite
  3. Mac compatible? Yep. Works great too. you can even use it to read the books on your mac if you want to.
  4. Funnily enough, all those positions relate to the key positions/players we've foolishly sold. EDIT: of course, that might have been your point (if im giving you the benefit of the doubt) I have had a couple of bottles of wine though
  5. Thanks to a bottle of wine, I made a somewhat unplanned, unscheduled, impromptu, impulsive and expensive eBay purchase the night before last...... I placed a cheeky last ditch bid for this and won http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...T#ht_500wt_1156 Mrs Paws will get her new laptop on Monday apparently, so that's the money for the NAS gone. Still, if we've both on macs, it'll make the backup issue easier in the long run (time machine - oh yes); or at least that's what I'm telling myself! I'm stealing the keyboard too, 'cos I want it.
  6. Hey Bonamental Not heard of Sayce so I'll give him a listen. Listening to that Youtube clip he's a bit Mayer-esque imo (not necessarily a bad thing - I've seen JM live and he was good). Completely forgot about Bloodline also, so just 'acquiring' the album from '94 now. Should be interesting. I sometimes think I actually prefer early JB to late JB in the way he plays and to a degree, the way he sings. I think he sang better before the lessons tbh. As much as I hate to admit it, I think he's beginning to stagnate a little and his tone has become very same-y and one sided. I read a review a while ago which made a tonal comparison to Eric Johnson. Not something I'd spotted, but it's true imo. Hopefully, the BCC suff will give him a fresh direction, because he's a class act and I'd hate for him to run out of ideas / originality etc now. Having said all of that, I'm still wanting to see him with BCC later this year He's feckin' mint like
  7. I was the same. I wasn't interested in one until I saw one. A couple of the lads in the office had them and the screen is fantastic. Now I have one, I'd not be without it. I've just started on the Song of Ice and Fire series by George RR Martin (Game of Thrones is pt1) and I have all 5 books on the Kindle. I also have 4/5 books for work on there too. Mind you, I get the train every day, so its perfect for me. I also read on a night time though and I can confirm when you fall asleep with it, you do not require stitches in the morning.
  8. Is that because these are paid apps that you got for free with Installous? No, ones I 'acquired' off the internet. In the past I'd used Installous when I jailbroke my 3GS. After my backup got corrupted and goosed the phone I did a full restore and never jailbroke it again. Since then, I've not jailbroken my iphone 4 either. After jailbreaking an ipad1 from the office, I looked for installous and it no longer exists. I tried downloading apps from the web and then installing using itunes but it wont work. Since then, I've done some reading and its been mentioned that you install the ssh app on the device (through Cydia), change the password and then copy the apps from your PC/Mac over to the device using SSH. I've not had the ipad much in the last month or so, so I've not tried this yet. Problem is, it seemed quite long winded and the old way was more user friendly. I know what I'm doing, so I can do it; however it struck me that many people wont have a clue about SSH and so there must be an easier way for average people. How do other people who've jailbroken theirs get their apps on. Is it the SSH method or is there an easier/more user friendly way?
  9. Yeah, the Blues Brothers version was a cover also and it was done back in the late 70's. Really old blues tune IIRC. Still my favorite film of all time: The Blues Brothers.
  10. Dan Ackroyd & John Belushi used to do a cover of that (not the FDJ version obviously) as part of their live set when they toured as the Blues Brothers. [/random reference] Personally I've been listening to a live version of Slash's solo tour a lot recently (just bought 2 tickets for me & Mrs Paws) and the new Foos album which I like a lot too.
  11. I realised late last night, it wasn't iTunes I used to use at all - it was Installous. Seems thats not available now. Itunes just complains of an unknown error. It does it with every ipa, so I know its not just a corrupt one. I'll have another look on the web.
  12. Noob question, but how do I get my apps onto my jailbroken ipad again? iTunes just complains of an unknown error? Im sure I just used itunes last time......
  13. Chooooooon ! Indeed it is. One of those tracks I never get bored of.
  14. Went into Tesco's on my way home form work on Friday night to grab a bottle of wine and something for tea. Came out with a Kinect Tesco have a 20% off sale which includes games, consoles and accessories, so the Kinect was £99.99. Sale ends today.
  15. I eventually got ine at the third time of asking. After the 1st went AWOL the 2nd was DOA. It literally didnt boot up the 1st time it was switched on as was permanently hung on 20% progress bar. Amazon asked about the case (I didnt know about the problems at the time) but mine wasnt in one. They replaced it within 2 days and this one has been great. I have the leather, none light case and its great. Use Calibre to manage your library rather than the Kindle app. It handles metadata muh better, does all kinds of conversions and theres a handly little plugin for stripping the drm out of kindle books Available for Mac, PC & Linux. We have a nice little book share on the go at work. One person buys a book and we all share it.
  16. Agree with this tbh. Nowt knee jerky about it. This is the form that got us relegated. Without Carrol we wouldn't have anywhere near as many points as we have now. Without Shola I can't see where our next goal is going to come from. The hard work done by Barton and Nolan means nowt when the ball doesn't stick up top. Would anyone blame Barton and Enrique if they refused to sign new contracts? I wouldn't. We are in the shit. Feel free to quote me in 6 weeks If I were them, I honestly wouldn't. I'd stall until the summer and either see what NUFC's transfer plans are or just get the fuck out. AC was the player we should have been building a team around, not cashing in on at the first opportunity.
  17. Yeah Ricky seems to have got the ideas he's the best left back in the world. Lol, he does try to play the game when he should sometimes just hoof it; but I can't criticise him to much as he's generally class for us - just had a poor game tonight. Even Williamson hasn't been bad for us this season, so I can't heap the blame tonight on him either even though, their individual mistakes tonight were what brought about the most pressure and ultimate the goal form Fulham. I dont understand this talk of knee-jerk. Its not, we looked light when AC was injured, but there was a belief and an optimism that this would change on his return. We no longer have that safety net. That's not knee jerk - it was obvious to every man and his dog that without AC we were always going to struggle. Tonight, has done little to sway me on that. Granted we missed Tiote's steel in midfield tonight, but even that wouldn't have created a goal tonight.
  18. Enrique & Williamson had poor games tonight (particularly Jose) but tbf to them both; everyone can have poor games and those two haven't had a bad season. It just looks worse because we're all on a downer and we've lost. Imo Lovenkrands has an intelligence about his play that none of the others have, but thats not enough adn we're so light in the rest of our striking department that Lovenkrands intelligence still leaves us woefully short. Barton is not a right winger and never will be, Guthrie even less so; so fuck knows why we loaned Routledge out. Fucking stupid window and we'll reap the rewards of our lack of activity and our gambler's approach. If we get 6 points out of our next 6 games and bare my arse in the nearest fenwicks-type window.
  19. Carroll wouldn't have been playing anyway Its the negative affect it's had on the whole team though. Best, Shola, Ranger previous only had to up their game for a few weeks until Carroll return. Its a different thing altogether the be the main source of goals. People underestimate that and Carroll shouldered it very well. With Carroll we had optimism and a player who genuinely put fear into the opposition because he was a real threat. Now, we are going to have to rely on Barton & Nolan to score every chance they get 'cos we'll get fuck all out of Best & Ranger. Lovelyhands is a support striker / impact sub at best and always has been. Even without Strolla getting injured we were in a weakened position. Now though, we are Royally Fucked.
  20. Is the right answer. If I thought we'd replace Carroll and use the rest of the cash to strengthen the squad elsewhere, £35-40m for a unproven player like Carroll would be far to good to turn down. I dont want him to go, but if I could believe the above I could handle it. Selling him in the final hours of the window is fucking madness though. We'll have Shola, Best and Lovelyhands to keep us up. Shola leading the line? We're fucked.
  21. For myself I've bought (just before Xmas really) a 15" Macbook Pro Bought one of these to use as an HTPC & a PC for Matt to play Educational games like Dora etc on: Acer Revo 3700 MBP is lovely and the Revo is canny too. I've put XMBC on it and as its running Windows7 my old TV card's media remote & IR sensor worked out the box. It auto-boots into XMBC so the Mrs can use the remote to select something for the kids and not even have to get the wireless keyboard & mouse out (the version I bought came with them).
  22. Ranger is desparate to score after his miss. Should have passed it there though
  23. If its the HDNL then you're in trouble. Turbo Gash. City Link, I think. Either way, resigned to it not turning up today (funnily enough ), so ho hum. I'm getting something from Amazon via City Link on Tuesday and after all the bother I had with them last month, I checked whether they were back to normal on their web site - apart from 4 or 5 depots they claim to be okay. I'm still waiting for my kindle from amazon. It should have arrived before the 22nd. They didn't dispatch it until the 27/28th. Fucking joke really
  24. - not had long hair for about 5 years man!
