We would all like to win a cup. But that isn't going to be a gauge on how we are progressing as a team. Allardyce has to get a complete new back four imo (coupled with using Taylor and continuing his education) and that back four will have to get used to Shay and vice versa. The whole back four business is going to be one hell of a task to accomplish in a short space of time. Oh I know all that (see my first post in the thread) I'm just really tired of us being reffered to as the team with no silverware, it's not something I want above all else just something that would really be the icing on the cake

I'll give allardyce the rest of his career as long as we improve over every season obviously making allowances as we get into the more competetive spots, but I'll always be happy with generally improving whatever it takes to get it done

I think he'll be with us until at least january simply because non of the clubs he would want to leaveus for would be willing to pay 9 million on him with his recent injury problems and the fact he's scored once in, what, 6 matches? since his return liverpool especially want/need proven goalscoreres in the premiership to step up their title challenge and I just can't see them taking the risk even with the new money going into the club
