  1. Surely if a player is playing for a move their form should suddenly get better, not worse? Tiote's form is going to put off suitors, not encourage them.
  2. Yeah. I'm not sure why how much they're paid has anything to do with it, as if a high wage will make you less tired on a football pitch.
  3. Who said they can't? If you can't appreciate that Arsenal benefitted by having no Boxing Day fixture, and that we suffered a bit because we did (even more so because of the performance at Old Trafford), then you're being too harsh.

  5. Poor form, and it's not much of an excuse given what they're paid, but I imagine they were gutted and just wanted to get out of there.
  6. fucking pump/pumping fucking You forget Obertan and Bigirimana by the way. And I don't think we'll go down even if we don't sort the glaring issues out. Sad it's even being considered after last season, mind.
  7. Thought that place is meant to be pretty poor once you get past the beaches and the architecture. Which, thinking about it, is reason enough for many to go there I'm sure.
  8. Has to be a middle ground with Ba really. He's entitled to ask for what he wants but I imagine he'll understand why the club would be reluctant to pay him far in excess of any other player. It's a shame the clause exists, obviously. If we couldn't agree terms with Ba on an improved contract we could at least make more than £7.5m off of him. £7,5m for a player of his quality is an absolute bargain. If he leaves, I hope it's to a decent side capable of winning trophies (even Turkish ones, given he's been linked to Galatasaray and his best mate Moussa Sow plays over there). If he went to QPR because they're prepared to pay him a large wage, I'd really lose all respect for the man. Which would be a shame as he seems like a nice, amiable person.
  9. On the other hand, we might have new players by then.
  10. Berlin is supposed to be class. edit; thinking about it, I could reeeeally do with a holiday after today's game
  11. Because he realised that Arsenal had the upper hand in terms of fitness (after not having played on Boxing day, and hardly pressing at all in the first half), maybe? So instead of leaving ourselves open by attacking against a fitter team, he wanted us to go defensive. Thought a fitness expert like yourself would have considered this.
  12. Fair point. We'll see. If we don't invest, and invest heavily to be honest, then I don't know what will happen. Stage protests maybe, but that wouldn't change anything. We're a shambles in many ways yet we carry genuine attacking threat in most games we play. We need to stop rendering that threat useless.
  13. If we haven't brought in at least 2 defenders by the end of the window... I hope Pardew doesn't dare think that getting Steven Taylor back makes us only need 1. With that said, I'd let Simpson go today if I could.
  14. True, although Arsenal are making it very easy. And their fans... genuinely wondering if ESPN's mics are playing up. They were silent at one point, I could hear one bloke's voice.
