... So Ranger is in the squad for Southampton. http://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/nile-ranger-in-united-squad-for-saints-clash-1-5163348 Poor Xisco.

Improving on Simpson and Williamson would at least reduce the amount of goals conceded though. Wouldn't really affect our attacking play that much, although I don't doubt for a second that someone like Debuchy would be far more effective going forward than Simpson is.

It's *only* Southampton. Some might argue that they might deserve more points than they have as they've played well in several games and been unlucky in a couple. Their defence is shocking though. We'll win 2-1. 2 early goals and then we'll sit back for 60 minutes and invite pressure and have a nervy second half when they score in the 55th minute.

If anythng good can come from our poor form, it's that it's made it extra clear that we need bodies in in January. It's shown Ashley/Llambias that we can't wing it, injuries have cost us and the young players are not yet ready to solidify their first team places. The owner took a gamble and it's not paid off. We need the same players we needed in the Summer, and I'd be prepared to sell Tiote (not been at his best and I've had enough of his embarrassing lack of disciplne and constant suspensions) if Ashley isn't prepared to put his hand in his own pocket. Not that I expect anyone to come in in the window. Then again I thought the same last year and we brought in Cisse, which turned out to be a great bit of - significant - business and just what we needed.

Doesn't really matter a great deal either way when you're not much of a Newcastle fan in the first place.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like him either.

Since i don't know who that is, I'm intrigued to know why.

Please tell me you've had a few.

We've not been hammered by anyone this season despite not playing well throughout it. Now why would SOUTHAMPTON be the ones to inflict a hammering? Some people...
-
This lot are woeful. We shouldl be destroying them. They've scored something like 6 goals all season.

You have to laugh.

That was me and did I really say "light", not "lighting"?

Don't waste your time with this guy.

Nile Ranger might go to Prison

They probably - stupidly - would rather get a transfer fee for him. -
It was amazing if you ask me. An absolute masterclass in direction, and perfectly acted. The last 10 minutes or so of this episode will live long in the memory. These are some thoughts I posted on another site about it:

There's a thread for it here mate (which I'll bump with some thoughts) - http://www.toontastic.net/board/topic/28409-boardwalk-empire/page__st__60 This show deserves its own lively dedicated thread, it's comfortably the best thing on television if you ask me.

Post of the year right there.

Harry Redknapp as a tv pundit

"Cockney know-nowts" One took England to the brink of a major final, QPR into Europe, and won La Liga. The other has been successful at every club he's managed, taking the biggest into the top 4 on two occasions. -
Fulham with no luck here, injury-wise.
-
LBT doesn't watch the matches, he admitted the other day that he sometimes forgets we're even playing.

Medical profession wars!

Let's not face it, thanks. If such a thing happens so often, it's not luck. Sure, there might be an element of luck but it's more to do with taking chances when the other team didn't. We were "lucky" last season in terms of a relative lack of injuries/suspensions. To say we were lucky to have such form is unfair on the players and is an overly pessimistic point of view in my opinion.
