We are no more a selling club than any other club, bar City. Players have virtually all the power these days. They either get what they want or act the twat like Barton did and make keeping them untenable. We just have to understand our current place in the pecking order. Sad but true. If someone offers to double any of our players wages they will be gone. Just got to hope we keep getting enough quality in to take us forward until such time as we have the revenue to pay big wages either by sneaking the Champions league or a mega rich owner. Til then we are probably in about as good a position as we can hope to be. Oh I know we're not unique. Every player has his price and all that.

By all accounts they played 1 up front (Gameiro) under their old manager. No idea how Ancelotti wants to do it.

I don't properly buy into the idea that we're a 'selling club'. But the more I'm tempted to feel that way, the more detached I feel. It's why I dislike loan signings - knowing that they'll be off in the near future makes it difficult for me to 'connect' (really not the right term) to them. If a player comes to the club, scores a few goals and then is then off then I'll enjoy his time here but won't really care as much about him since we won't be building a side for the long term.

As soon as we have some success the press start circling and the speculation mounts because how could a player stay at little Newcastle when all those big clubs are after him. As soon as a player does well for us they assume that he's off. I don't care how much profit they could make off him - just refuse to sell him unless he turns out to be the complete opposite of the person he appears to be and hands in a transfer request. I can understand the allure of massive profits (since we don't know much about this release clause) but sometimes you need to keep certain players to build the squad around.

Chronicle reckons we're back in for him. Has scored 1 in 11 appearances. A pitiful amount.

I doubt most of them will make it tbh. Just the way it usually goes. 3 or 4 of them have been around for ages and not stepped up.

Agenda ? What agenda ? I just think that kicking the shit out of someone/assaulting a woman is far worse than calling someone names, and Collymore should take a good look at himself accordingly. Whats more, most people of my age tend to think the same. It must be a "brainwashed by lefties new generation do gooder pc correct" thing.

Might be down to my more limited preferences, but there is so little left for me to explore from last year's music. I thought it was pretty awful for me personally. A few disappointments, very little in the way of freshness and hardly any new bands/artists that that excited me. This thread suggests my taste in music is a bit out of place on here, mind

You win something called visible progression and it also makes the club look better to new and existing players. No foreigner will really care that you made the final and lost it.
