I get the feeling that Ashley cares so little about the club that he'll only sack Pardew when it's clear we're in serious genuine danger of getting relegated (as that would affect the exposure Sports Direct get by having their logo plastered all over the stadium). Anyone else would have done it a long time ago.

It's fucking pathetic what he said yesterday (see Trooper's post). Compare that to what Koeman said about Southampton on MOTD yesterday when Lineker asked him what they could achieve.

@@trooper You can blame the club for this (at least partly). They lied - yet again - and confiscated banners etc when they said they wouldn't. Stewards also took them away from fans who sneaked them in the ground. No doubt those that still had theirs were a bit more muted as a result. The protest might have been a bit of anticlimax, but ti still led to loads of attention being placed on the club and Pardew's position. A lot of pressure, even if the event itself was a damp squid. So I don't want to blame the fans at SJP yesterday too much. Nor do I think those who didn't take part are happy with what's going on, they just wanted to support the players regardless of their feelings for the club/Pardew/Ashley.

No, it won't solve the main issue which is Mike Ashley and how little he cares for the club. Pardew is a problem on his own, though.

Sums it up. Why does he persist with one up top, especially when Riviere is clearly not comfortable being that one? Why not show some attacking intent and have two strikers on?

The club lying about confiscating material is a disgrace, but the whole 5 minute thing was maybe a bit too soon as well. Then again, we're more likely to be in front in the 60th minute than the fifth, which could have diluted the impact even more.

I don't know, we beat them 4-1 last season at their place, and last time we had protests we won too.
