  1. Ah, so that's what a sliced beetroot looks like.
  2. Watching the ads for them things puts me off ever buying them. "That's lush man isn't it"
  3. There's other opinions because one of his points is factually incorrect - Man Utd do put out new kits every season. So does pretty much every other club going. I think the only ones who stray from this are clubs like Borussia Dortmund (I think?) who make their away kits from the previous season into their current third kits.
  4. Why would they lock the thread?
  5. Liverpool deal is off. Failed medical apparently.
  6. I want an established talent with good stats in better leagues. Perez, Cisse, Gouffran, Riviere and Armstrong as our strike force worries me.
  7. Great stats. Just the sort of free scoring striker we should be getting linked with.
  8. http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jul/23/luis-suarez-murderer-liverpool-iago-aspas-barcelona-bite Oh dear.
  9. Unless I'm much mistaken, all in all Di Maria had the better stats last season, playing in the better league. And now he'll likely be moved on. Not for the first time, I think they've bought a player they don't need. Good World Cup from Monaco's point of view, his performances added a fair few quid to the fee they got.
  10. Hoping Aarons will make the step up. Tired of disappointments (thus far...) like Ferguson etc.
  11. Doesn't appear to have legs, thankfully (the story, not Isla...). Would like to think the only speculation we're involved in for a while concerns us bringing in a striker. The rest of the side is in fairly good shape, the strikeforce really doesn't inspire me with confidence unless Riviere and Perez surprisingly take the league by storm.
  12. "Mag propaganda" rears its head as early as post 2 As bad as we were last season, we're still a step up ("a higher level") for the lad. How can some of that lot deny it?
  13. Been denied hasn't it? Like you say - what's the point? We got Janmaat. I know Isla can play in midfield as well though. Even then, I'd hope our time, money and resources were being aimed at another striker (and if possible another creative midfielder and a CB).
  14. You've got to factor in their ages though. Debuchy is 29 in just over a week.
  15. Tragic news, spoke a fair bit to him back in the day, good laugh. Condolences to his family and friends. Will be donating via Cath's fund.
  16. I'm not sure why people can't just assume that both sides have done wrong. It's not that people make Ben Arfa out to be an angel, they're aware he might not the be easiest to manage, but continue to blame the manager unequivocally for the situation that has arisen. I'm pretty sure there's more to it than just "Ben Arfa doesn't track back". None of us are privy to what goes on behind the scenes. In public, Pardew has said some things I disagree with. He's not played him when to my eyes he should have. In public, Ben Arfa had an unofficial press conference which helped his relationship with the fans and press but has to have gone down badly with the club. He's also appeared visibly unfit on several occasions. The latter is inexcusable, yet some people still blame the club for his physical shape. A professional athlete should be able to look after themselves without their club's input. The bare minimum I'd expect from any Premier League player (be it free agent, youth, reserve, bench warmer, trialist...) is for them to be in decent shape.
  17. To be fair, and I appreciate your sentiment, they're unfortunately not the only NUFC fans to die in tragic circumstances. They are just the most high profile ones. As such I think a plaque might be going too far. I'm sure the club will do well by them, they've done the right things so far.
