  1. The cheek of Fulham committing attacking midfielders forward against Everton.
  2. Neil Cameron is either an idiot or he is outright lying about what he saw.
  3. Losing to a better team. We're 3 players short of simply competing with them. Cisse offering nothing; Yanga-Mbiwa playing out of position, poorly; and Gouffran isn't able to play possession under pressure. Elliot has not disgraced himself, which is pleasing. Plus he made a wonder save.
  4. Ben Arfa burning Shaw for pace and winning the ball back. The lad does not defend iirc.
  5. Ben Arfa does that and he wouldn't see the light of day for a month.
  6. Cisse didn't bother defending that corner. Yanga-Mbiwa is too limited on the ball to play at RB. That's really hindering our ball retention.
  7. Hatem has started from the right. My word, Pardew must be in a reckless frame of mind.
  8. That's as good a first XI as we could field.
  9. Ben Arfa for Gouffran. Marveaux for de Jong. Haidara for, what I can only guess is, our lucky fan competition winner LB. Nah, that's far too balanced.
  10. Pretty sure Hatem played that pass to Ameobi a little strong on purpose.
  11. Benny making things happen from the right. Obviously.
  12. Ben Arfa coming on. A positive move, but not as positive if he is dropped into the number 10 role. We all know he is far less effective inside.
  13. I really do not get why Gouffran's role is to drift into the middle of park and act as a makeshift playmaker, or at the very least water carrier. A he hasn't got the skill set to play that role and B it nullifies his genuine goal threat. I know that Pardew persists in playing a CF and CM out wide because those two do a lot of running and defend, but for the love of God, we are at home to Crystal Palace. Surely we will have enough in defence even if we have to "risk" playing one of either Marveaux or Ben Arfa from the start. The former would be perfect for that free role from the left. de Jong has no goal threat. He'll only score clear-cut chances and he even managed to miss a 75% chance early today, with that header over the bar. Not impressed with him, even if he has shown that he can play simple passes, which most consider to be "good link-up" - it isn't; it is satisfactory link-up.
  14. Spent most of yesterday playing (and completing) this hilariously magnificent game. It's such a shame that the combat system, even on "hardcore" mode, doesn't offer much of a challenge. And I wish it was longer than 10-12 hours. I'm in the habit of trading my games in as soon as I have completed them, but this one is going to stay firmly put on my shelf... ... once I've completed it for a second time. There'd better be a ton of DLC.
  15. Ben Arfa and Marveaux don't make the bench. Now, I know Pardew never closes the door on a player, but I guess those two have been shoved out onto the street.
  16. The last time I was this apathetic was seeing "Newcastle United appoint Graeme Souness" slowly trudge across the BBC News 24 ticker. I can't see us making any progress unless we eject this man back to the dark ages.
  17. The last thing Sissoko needs on a football pitch is time and space.
  18. Playing well. Just a few tweaks and we should take home 3 points.
  19. That wired article is a bloody good read.
  20. I've seen several people complaining that Gouffran looks jaded. If that's the case, then he needs rotating to avoid burn-out. Yet, rotating players and maintaining form seems pretty tricky and not something Pardew has managed this season. I guess he's playing it ultra safe in not rotating the team too much and would rather players like Cisse, Ben Arfa and Marveaux rot slowly on the bench. Sissoko is certainly a key component of the team right now and shouldn't be dropped.
  21. 6 game sample size is laughable. Everyone knows that the new manager honeymoon period is a real thing and that is exactly what Sherwood is enjoying. Also laughable is his assertion that Tim Sherwood some sort of miracle worker in getting Adebayor to perform over a short period of time. Anyone with half an eye on world football could tell you that the real problem with Adebayor, which nobody has found a solution to, is to get him to sustain a high level of performance throughout a season. The stake of football journalism and analysis is appalling.
