  1. Just need to keep it composed and tidy from here while continuing to put them onto the back foot - this is a much diminished Brighton so far, let's hope it continues.
  2. They're stretched, have 3 games remaining after this one, probably hasn't tagged it as a priority for their own objectives. They played on Sunday too. Based on what he said to the press, I reckon that's all it is.
  3. I mean they're right tbf, Brexit killed off most of my passion for democracy What is the point in a system that bases itself almost entirely on lies and distortions funded by Russia and dark money, and aided and abetted by traitors in the Mail? I'd take a dictatorship of the mentally adequate any day over the farce we have right now.
  4. I just try to be balanced and to charitably give time to the viewpoints I'm contending with tbf - I mean to do anything otherwise would be to assume I'm unerringly right about everything and can never change or evolve my views I think it's a good thing to be like this... I do agree that we've continued to play well and are being stretched with fitness anyway - that we've continued to play well is the prime reason I still think we're going to be fine and that we haven't choked. I suppose if we continued to play as ferociously as we have, and still failed, I would concede that we hadn't choked.
  5. You reckon? For us to lose it from here I think it would represent our worst run of form all season - we are definitely capable of doing what we need to here. I'm also thinking about how we struggled mentally with the League Cup final which Howe himself referenced in his press conference. I'm not saying that this means the players have failed or that we should be disappointed in them, but if mental fragility is the cause of us wobbling out of this, we should be collectively man enough to own that so we can work on it. I take the point that the league position represents form across a whole season, but nonetheless this is in our control as of right now, with 3 games we are absolutely capable of winning given the form we were in pre-Arsenal. I'm still very confident that we're going to manage it incidentally - and when we do, I'll be lauding the players for their mental fortitude.
  6. What is this meant to mean exactly I'll be gutted if we miss out on CL now btw as more than anything it'll underline that the old issue of this club being more associated with glorious failure than actual glory will still be intact. I won't blame anyone but let's be serious about it, if we fuck it up now it's because we've choked. We're not going to fuck it up though. We are a good fucking team that is really motivated to achieve what it has to do here. Weve been top 4 most of the season. Brighton are not a better team than we are. Also I watched Brighton's prematch presser and they sound stretched thin themselves.
  7. I know a few... one of them moved to Canada shortly after voting for it. Seems to be a bit of a running theme tbh.
  8. Aye the country is fucked but we may as well get some satisfaction out of not having been conned by a pack of traitors because we were too insecure to admit to ourselves that we didn't know as much as experts in certain fields.
  9. The amount of vindication we're going to get about Brexit over the years man
  10. Barcunderland with a chance to really show off tonight. I'm expecting 80:20 possession and and 30 shots on goal based on what we've been hearing.
  11. We figured that the whole run in wasn't enough of an ordeal as it was, and that this would be a good way to make it even more stressful.
  12. Right at the end though it sounds like he might actually be thinking we'd be better off in the EU again. I think at the point in time where Nigel Fucking Farage is thinking we might be better off rejoining, you know the country is fucked.
  13. Am confused here mind, Renton just said we only need 6 points and he's right. We can lose to Brighton and still be mathematically uncatchable for Liverpool as long as we beat Leicester and Chelsea. They could beat Southampton 20-0 and it wouldn't matter because that point against Leeds was actually useful. I do ultimately think we'd all feel a lot better if we just won this fking game on Thursday though.
  14. I agree but the only reason it'll feel worrying if we lose to Brighton is that it happens before the other two. We don't need to win that game, it's arguably the toughest match remaining for us. We can get by with beating Chelsea and Leicester. It's a shame we don't have Leicester on Thursday tbh because getting the 3 points there would relax everyone about playing Brighton. As it is, I can see us stumbling on Thursday and then cruising the final two games just to freak everyone out
  15. Fuck sake lads, we just need to win 2 of our remaining 3 games Definitely not beyond this team. You'd think it was Liverpool who had the advantage reading this.
  16. The only way Leicester win today is if the universe has already scripted them beating us in a few days time I'm going to give it a miss and assume Liverpool got the points.
  17. The day it's ever that easy for NUFC, is the day I'll believe we've actually made it
  18. Constituency Dumfriesshire, Clydesdale and Tweeddale MP David Mundell (Conservative)
  19. Given that I'm still sat in a Tory constituency, I suspect that my vote going to the LDs would be best for everyone anyway.
