Have to say mind, there really does seem to be a huge amount of fuss about City all of a sudden. Have these financial irregularities only shown up this year, or is it just that since they're about the win the CL, they've transformed from being an entity whose existence is built around trolling Man Utd, into an entity who are somehow threatening Liverpool's legacy as the greatest team in the world?

While Squires aimed his strip this week at Man City, we got a look in within the final panel He's sticking to the 'Death Star FC' theme which I have to admit I do get some amusement from: https://www.theguardian.com/football/ng-interactive/2023/may/23/david-squires-on-manchester-city-winning-the-premier-league-again Obviously he's gone for the simplest characterisation of the issue but he's a cartoonist after all..

They will never manage to get to even this. This is the lowest bar for our measure of success, and even if it never goes beyond this, Sunderland will never manage to even equal where we are. Their insignificance is forever.

Incidentally lads, now that it's done, when you find yourself looking for something to do over the coming few days, maybe have a read through RAWK's top 4 prediction thread over the course of the season. It's delightful. Even right to the end they didn't think we were going to manage this https://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=352755.0

Well it should be - so something is off there. Did you try any other cables?
-
Wired connection should be about 30% faster than WiFi (to answer Renton's question, you use a wired connection if you want to download anything of considerable size!) so something is clearly off here. If you go back to WiFi does it revert to the speeds you had previously?

Generic small time football blather thread FOREVER

I reckon they should enjoy moments like that while they can tbh - we timewasted against them because they were on paper the better side. That's not going to be the case much longer. -

That video is now private, what have we missed? -

Anyone else notice City won the league tonight? Apparently thats 5 of the past 6 seasons they've won it, 3 in a row. At this point the rest of the league should be willing us on for everyone's sake tbh cos the other teams clearly aren't going to manage. Congrats @LondonBlue - it is deserved and i think this is probably the best PL side ive seen. -
This feels like a whoosh on my end but just to be sure, they are of course called Aston Villa mate

It's a very slow evening for me

Gemmill is correct, Brighton and Villa are on the same points and Brighton are higher. It can't be alphabetical. It looks to me like it considers Man Utd more likely to finish 3rd than us based on games remaining. The infographic isn't solely dedicated to top 4 or not, it also tries to predict league placement.
-
Now that we have CL pretty much, I do actually think we should win the final two games anyway to finish above Manure. Only team we've never finished higher than iirc?
-
At least we will clear the finish line on our own terms, as much as it would have been nice to get it done today. 1 point from two games. Surely we've got this.
-
That's a hard tempt on fate there, let's see if the universe buys it
-
Howay man, there is no chance at all that Liverpool lose this game. Firstly because they're Liverpool, and secondly because it would directly benefit us, and we're Newcastle. It ain't happening

I think at this point Spurs have pivoted from being a football team to a high end comedy act.

Glad we did sign him though, imagine what a player capable of what he's managed this season would be costing us now. I think he's a great player for us, I really think he's one of the best in the team. Howe clearly thinks he's a fantastic player too for his tactical brain and workrate, but for me it's just his sheer determination and constant threat he poses. Really pleased for him that he's had such a good season.

Just reading the thread actually, they are having a full on breakdown today tbh. A few of ours are on there talking about how 'good for the North East it is that one of our clubs will be in the CL given that the others are performing so poorly' They're all climbing over each other to adamantly protest that they don't care, demonstrating the sort of indifference a starving man might have to a 3 course meal. They also managed to crowbar Brexit into it, and then fall out with each other about it. All in all it's been a productive day for RTG's NUFC thread denizens.
