I don't have the information to agree or disagree short of quickly scanning the UK metrics on income inequality across various ethnic groups and learning that asian households outperform black ones on that single metric - I'm asking you really, if we know that she's wrong or not.
-
But I mean, is she wrong about it? I get that she said it, and I agree with your interpretation of what is being said, but do we know if she's just made it up, or is it actually true?
-
Is this statement incorrect? Not challenging, just curious. To the extent that material dispossession is a factor of systemic racism, it is almost certainly the case that some groups will feel it more keenly than others - for instance, UK government statistics reveal that asian people outperform black people in terms of household income - there isn't a one size fits all take on structural racism. Having said that, the fact that she chose to bring up this point in isolation is rather telling, I am sure there would have been a number of other less dog whistley points she could have made.

You'd think he'd be able to afford a fucking chauffeur, frankly.

True, and I agree with this, but it's not like the games against them that we're used to anymore. Typically we'd get them in the situation like this and we'd be clear underdogs with a mountain to climb. I don't think that mountain is quite so high now. I'm not even sure it is a mountain anymore, perhaps just a mound. Their team isn't better than ours, although we might be roughly comparable in the cold light of day - the only thing they've really got over us IMO is that they're used to winning when it counts.

I think Scoobos is spot on tbh, but it's broadly what a lot of us have been saying for some time. He is at best a slow motion version of the same car crash we're already buckled in for, if you take him at his word.

Eddie’s title chasers against some league one outfit from Yorkshire

Fair play to Sheff Wed - agree with sentiments that we don't need this cup run anyway so not too broken up about it. It's embarassing and the players we used should still have been able to handle their opponents, but it's not like this is unchartered territory for us Onwards we go - might even shake off any complacency. -
Tbf, good and sympathetic film makers probably set about to make a sympathetic film. The mackems made themselves the joke.

Happy New Year lads. All the best for the year ahead.

This has been absolutely glorious. The spectacular nature of this fuckwit's collapse at the hands of Greta Thunberg/Romanian Police has actually made knowing who he is worthwhile. What a cunt man.

He's the new thought leader for generations of young men, rejecting feminism and soft, beta male things like protecting the environment, respecting your partner and finding happiness outside of money. He is, and I cannot overstate this, a weapons grade cunt. Of the highest, highest level. Poisoning teenage boys with his shallow, pathetic version of masculinity. Previously some sort of MMA fighter, now - I kid you not - a public intellectual for those with the emotional intelligence of fleas. He only hit my radar a few weeks ago but I've gone and had a look and can definitely confirm he is a charlatan. A bellend amongst bellends. The literal blind leading the blind. But he's rich as fuck so he must know what he's talking about..!

Great first half where we were clinical and dangerous throughout, and a competent and professional second half. My lass was watching with me (a rare thing) and she kept asking why Leicester were passing to their keeper so much, that it was boring meanwhile I'm sitting there waxing lyrical to my dad (Everton fan) about how amazing our press is. We make other teams play badly, or within themselves. We are quite possibly the best in the league at it via this particular tactic. In fact fuck it, we are the best pressing team in the league.

Merry Christmas all, I hope you're all safe and well, that the holidays are relaxed and enjoyable, and furthermore (completely selflessly), I hope your team wins on boxing day. You're all fantastic people and I wish you every happiness!

This is exactly how I see it. People think this is nihilism but actually I think in the end once you make peace with it, life becomes a bit easier. Nothing matters in any grand sense. Individual moments matter to individual people and as much as society tries to spin a narrative to hold it all together, that's all it really is. It is indeed liberating.

I mean... that guy will have an account.

Who cares anyway, Newcastle will win something eventually and none of this will even be a blip on the radar in comparison. England tried their best but IMO Southgate doesn't really have a system or style of play so if the players can't just 'make stuff happen' then we don't go anywhere. We also just don't know/understand/have it ingrained into us how to win when we need to dig deep. No shame going out to France, and even if we had somehow won, we don't have the stones to actually win the thing even if we were up against San Marino in the final.
-
All relative though isn't it - this is the pinnacle for a lot of them even these days, and I guess they get caught up in it. Also no shame in grown men crying, healthier than keeping it locked up and better for your bone structure than wall punching

https://www.readytogo.net/smb/threads/are-the-moralists-still-not-watching.1595417/ Thread in which Sunderland fans argue with each other about the morality of watching the world cup and generally push the view that when it comes to football, morality should be left out of it. Yes, those Sunderland fans. "In the end it's three lines on the shirt marra" Actual quote.

Ah it's OK, a mixed race mackem has just gone in and said it doesn't offend them and that anyone who thinks the term is racist doesn't understand racism. That's all right then, the universally accepted authority on the matter has spoken. It was all "whatabourery" (/keith) after all.
-
This Keith guy needs to learn the meaning of whataboutery because he's making himself look an absolute spanner here. It's actually making me cringe. Yes, "camel humper" is racist. Yes, it's appropriate to call that out. No it isn't whataboutery to do so because no one is holding it up as an equivalence that makes KSA atrocities acceptable, you utter fuckwit.

Tbh I thought the debate around this on here was largely theatrics for the sake of a bit of grandstanding in a group that otherwise agrees with itself all the time. Not sure anyone was genuinely wound up by it

If he doesn't put PR on the manifesto, I'm not voting for them. I've even cross my EU line here, but I'm not crossing that one. PR is the bare minimum for me to vote Labour.
