This is the game that should mean that Carver is never allowed to manage a football club ever again.

CT, why in fuck are you a tory? I actually don't get it. I mean, yes, Labour did a bunch of things that were actually pretty rubbish while in power, including and especially the Iraq war (but not the deficit and financial problems because, as I've actually pointed out to you specifically before, the deficit was totally stable prior to Goldman Sachs and the Americans ruining the global economy*): http://www.ukpublicspending.co.uk/uk_national_debt_chart.html *NB - notice how the deficit has gotten even worse under the Tories? But other than that, you must be able to see that the Tories are a bunch of charlatans who are using the economic problems as an excuse to push their ideology for total privitisation forwards, encouraged as they are by the shady hand of the corporate world which wants a bigger slice of our essential government services, and therefore much, much worse than Labour. See Royal Mail. To my mind then, you fall into one of two groups: 1 - You are a corporate executive who stands to gain from the privitisation of some form of basic service or another. These being the only people that the Tories actually look after. 2 - You are one of those people who swallows the lies about how the people at the top have just worked harder than everyone else, and that we're offering an equal platform for all which those who end up in squalor waste through their own poor decision making. You vote Tory because you believe that you're better than these people. The Tories aren't doing you personally any favours, and indeed your life is likely worse under them than it would be under Labour, but you feel good about yourself compared to those less fortunate. Many average Tory voting people seem to fall into this group. There is a third option which is that you're just intentionally contrary, but I've seen you change position on a number of issues before, and never on this one. As such, I suspect that this is a deeply held political position. Just curious, I guess.

He has a new name now though, new forum goers (stop laughing at the back) won't know who you're referring to if you keep up the J69 thing. His abbreviated name is now SEW which, on thinking about it, fits with how you've just described him, somewhat.
-
He worked in a department store for 6 weeks or so at one point, stacking shelves or something like that. Otherwise, he's just been a career politician. Which really only means he's good at getting himself elected and looking pretty on TV. But then, that is the curse of democracy. Anyone remotely capable is well clear of government.

The attempt at smearing Miliband is utterly cretinous, I very much hope they keep it up. Between this and Cameron running scared from an actual debate on policy, it should give Miliband the upper hand. That said, the Tories have been non-descript enough in power to probably pull over a good number of voters. Labour will take it but they'll need the SNP to shore it up I think - which will be used heavily as fodder for the subsequent election. There is a part of me that would thoroughly enjoy the rightwing nutjobs being forced to swallow the SNP having some pull in Westminster, but at the end of the day it'd do more harm than good to the left wing cause in the long run.

There is no way in hell that would remain a secret Best to out yourself on that one, it's not like he's done anything wrong. The girl's dad on the other hand...

Agreed, Carver is on a hiding to nothing with this one. Clearly has his favourites.
-
I've seen you make that comment so many times now that I'm fairly convinced it's never going to change...
-
I'm gonna take the hint and avoid it now all the same I keep getting wrong off HMHM for my vocabulary...I still remember that time I (ultimately as a result of brainwashing by Sky, I would argue) referred to Man Utd as 'United'. I think of that every time I have to write their name Fully deserved the criticism in fairness.
-
So you think saying 'I love the way you lot all carry on' would be less deserving of that picture above than the word banter. We'll have to agree to disagree on that one
-
Yeah I couldn't think of a better word for it though...is there one?
-
I love the banter on here Possibly more so than usual because I'm drunk.
-
I wish it was an exaggeration...

The problem though, even if you like all that stuff, is that none of it is worth actually fucking going to Sunderland for. If the airshow was in Newcastle, I'd go watch it. But since it's in Sunderland, and the place is such a dump, I just think it's not worth it. I remember going to Durham across one of the bank holidays over the summer last year with a friend from overseas, thinking I'd show him the Cathedral and all the stone paved streets etc, and it was full to the brim of drunken mackems in full Sunderland kits, screeching at each other and aggressively feeling themselves up. He thought I'd taken him to fucking Mordor. It made me really grateful to live in Newcastle, despite some of the more run down areas.

Don't start on that again...

I genuinely think we're utterly meaningless to him, but I just can't fathom the business rationale for what he's doing. Unless he's still just trying to make the best of his failed dream.

where the hell did this come from? Am I missing the hidden relevance of this post? Don't change Essemmbee, don't change.

I'm starting to wonder what the end game could possibly be though. Even though it's good news that the club is making a profit, £19m, even if we managed it each season, isn't enough to ever go anywhere. Might be enough to stay where we are I guess. So if he's not making any money out of it, he's not paying off the loan, and the club isn't making enough profit to really challenge (in the way Arsenal do), what is the point for Ashley? Just advertising? Mental lengths to go through for advertising...
-
We used to have Michael Owen as well, tbf. Can't get much worse than that in the boring stakes.
-
Is that the Fish going in there? He's southern isn't he?

God that's pathetic. I have no massively strong feelings about Sunderland, they've always been too shit to consider proper rivals, but you have to despair at the people who support them.
