I would tend to agree with what someone has said on here before (don't remember if it was in this thread...) but to me it seems a bit counter-productive. All these people are paying to enter into SJP to protest against MA when we all know that all he is interested in is the money. It wouldn't surprise me if he was coming to the games KNOWING that people will pay to come in and hurl the abuse at him. Loved the second video from outside after the match... but then again there was that one lad with the new black and blue kit with NUFC 4 LIFE... again... contradictory.

NUFC not for sale + Hughton awarded 18 month deal

Is there a compromise possible regarding boycott/going to the match? I remember when this issue was being discussed before that there was talk about filling the ground and then doing something while inside... turning your back to the pitch, remaining silent, staying after and protesting en masse... -

Do you have a link to their twitter pages? -
That was said on N-O (I know!) it is abit extreme but we don't have to do all of them, as some will hurt the club before Ashley, i.e not buying tickets, but he does have a point. Basically we just need to be upping the anti on Ashley & co. way more than what we should be doing atm (the chant). The way I see it, Bououuoycotts and not buying pies etc does fuck all. Ashley only seems to react to bad publicity Any organised protest needs to gain maximum national coverage to be effective . That means it must be something out of the ordinary. Even a banner held up in the ground is pretty lame as far as news editors are concerned. My suggestion would be to choose a game with TV coverage- have not one, but several different organised "events". A march through town (there used to be a B&W tank knocking about Town, get that ), get on the roof of the stand and unfurl a banner just before kick off*, once the starting whistle is blown, everyone walk out. Maybe the NUST could help with the logistics? * This is my line of work and I would be happy to try it. If it's to be done, do it properly. ( Tom, if we did it once, properly organised, I don't think it would put off any serious bidders. As it is , I don't believe there are any) That's all he has been getting in the press at the moment. I haven't seen any articles lately supporting that useless waste of space...

he would have gotten away with it too, if it wasn't for us meddling kids! -
I'm all for taking the game to the world and all but they've had one and the locals, generally, don't really give a fuck about the game which takes something away from the tournament imo. Yeah. just ask them a week before the tournament who they thinks going to win the world cup and the answer will be along the lines of: "I think the Yankees will do it, or maybe the Cardinals". I love American sports, but let's just leave them alone when it comes to kickfootsoccergoalball. 80% of the country have no interest and of those that do most don't actually get it. It's too simple and not enough 'points' are scored.

Greece: OFI/PAOK Italy: Inter Spain: Barca Germany: Schalke Scotland: Rangers Turkey: Besiktas I have a lot of greek friends (I go to a Greek Orthodox church) who are all Olympiakos/Panathinaikos/AEK supporters but my connections are with Crete although I look to see that PAOK is beating the Athenian teams as well (since OFI was relegated). I look out for the Besiktas results because of the Turkish students I have in class all support them.

Saylor in the squad makes me nervous and making him captain has me feeling that he is a definite to get injured... Damn Paranoia/superstitiousness -

Numbers-wise we appear to be fine. I am concerned about experience though... For the record, I am enjoying the ride and long may it continue! -
Interesting this... Very few of my students follow the English game as I do (more have been lately though) and don't quite grasp why I was an absolute miserable bastard at the end of the last school year. I had to explain to them the whole concept of relegation which isn't familiar to them. So what I have done has used Baseball. Baseball is a sport that can be used as an example in this case. You have the Major League (Yankees, Red Sox, Cubs, etc.) and below them you have the Minor Leagues which are in different levels (AAA, AA, A). The differences are that no teams get relegated to the lower divisions and that the teams in the lower divisions are feeder clubs (most of the time, a minor league team is owned by a major league team) for the major leagues. If worse came to worse... something similar to this could come into effect..

I believe it when I see it. For now I'm concentrating on the next match and health of the squad. All this 'In the know' rubbish is tiresome and I don't really believe in the bidders we have been told about. I'm sorry... I read this and for some reason had an image of a professor x type person using some mutant powers on protecting the players from injury. If that is what you are doing though, good work! Apologies for the post: It's been a long day at work. -

Maybe a boycott would have done something... ...or perhaps a high powered rifle. Exactly. -

The thing is all these ITKs always seem to post about the actual story thats going on, never have I seen one come in with some groundbreaking, this will happen story to then have it confirmed two days later. This whole thing with the Yanks meeting the club on Monday, I didnt hear any Yank accents or see a stetson anywhere in the ground. What I did see quite clearly though was Graham Roberts, he was in town and he was at a meeting. Whatever else shite that he spouts, he was spot on wth that. Americans wearing stetsons... But the name of my college was Stetson... -
I was thinking about finishing that last post with: "we should keep him" but then thought about what the opinion of him might be when we lose a game. Sometimes I wonder if this streak we are on is a "honeymoon" phase from being in a different league...

A lot of talk about how the fans are fickle... yet there really hasn't been too many people calling for Hughton's head (yet).

I'm in Portland, watching it on ESPN360. GO NOW! Didn't think that I could do it from work but gave it a shot and I am glad I did! Thanks Barnacle! (BTW: The ESPN feed went the whole match.) You have to pay a monthly fee though. Really??? Didn't ask for any information...

Like that matters! and it doesn;t It does Does it really??? Chris' opinion matters to MA and DL? That's odd... it didn't for KK. The only thing that does matter is the price tag. MA will buy a player if it has one of those neon pink 75% off tags he uses in his shops. Not what anyone else thinks.

The live version on '101' is fucking mint. This saga has "Blasphemous Rumours" as it's soundtrack (which is mint on 101 as well).
