Labour haven't ruled out spending on infrastructure though. It would make sense to emabrk on a huge Keynsian revolution to boost growth, improve productivity, and make us fit for purpose in the coming decades. I'd reverse HS2 again, get the national grid sorted out, build masses of social housing and ancillary infrastructure, and stop shit flowing into rivers, all using public money.
