Implying the deliverance of anything whilst having no power to deliver it is analogous with lying.

Well it's not really news, is it? Otherwise Moeen would never have been thrust into the role. They're taking Ansari too though so that's four spinners. Can't see Batty playing in the tests unless there's an injury but it's a long tour and he's probably going along for his experience too.

As far as I know there hasn't been any announcement about an England Lions tour for this winter but, if there is one, I'd expect Jennings to be involved.

Don't see the problem with picking horses for courses. He was the best spinner in county cricket last season.
-
Makes me laugh seeing utter chancers like Farage insisting Brexit should be delivered despite lying throughout the campaign about what he thought it should actually mean. Him and Boris and Gove and co should be strung up.

Be interesting to see how he copes with his place being under threat but you can't read too much into a single game. I wonder if Mourinho's finished. -
That interview he did with Clive Woodward (as part of a series the latter did) was canny but he came out with a gem when he said if he'd worked with Stevie Black at the start of his career he'd have become England captain.

I have a bit of time for him, certainly compared to your average PL professional player but he's also delusional and arrogant. I bet he thinks the one decent season he had here makes up for all the shit he caused

Jolly good fellow

According to the Beeb he's 'deeply unpopular' in the changing room and will never play for Rangers again. Also being investigated as part of a betting probe now.

Christ, what an image -
Jesus.

Give over man, the only thing that ties them to London is it being financially beneficial for them statying there. If Frankfurt becomes a better option, they'll gradually leave and go there.

It's canny nice but I'm a bit fucking sick of IPAs
-
And if future European legislation, over which we will have no influence, closes that loophole?

You star. Top marks for anyone who gets that.

There's more goals now though. I don't think the standard of defending is better in Serie A now than it was then. Look at that era - Nesta, Maldini, Costacurta, Baresi, Viechowod, Kohler, Ferrara, etc., etc.

I watched that game live as it was on channel 4 on a Sunday afternoon. Came from an opposition corner. Best bit was the cool as fuck finish from the edge of the box. It was againt Vicenza or somebody like that. Vialli was class as well alongside Ravenelli at Juve.

That 8 year old blended Scotch they do for about £13 is amazing for the money too. It's miles nicer than Bell's, Famous Grouse and all that lot (not saying a lot, I know). It's comparable with blends costing about £10 more. The gin's won loads of awards too, although I haven't tried the run of the mill stuff. I got a bottle of limited edition small batch one they did a couple of years back at Xmas and that was £10 for a half litre bottle and it was really nice.

Well May's given cabinet jobs to loads of the promient Brexiteers (especially the ones who actually meant it) so both stories could be accurate

I don't think it's just being sentimental. You've missed out Romario and Van Basten. The latter was probably one of the top 10 players of the century. I think, especially in his heyday before injuries caught up with him, Christian Veiri was brilliant too. Imagine him alongside Ronaldo at Inter were it not for their injuries coinciding. I thought Hernan Crespo was a fantastic player at Parma as well. George Weah was another one. Serie A also had some great no. 10s back then too. You've mentioned Del Piero but, good as he was, he wasn't up there with Roberto Baggio. Beppe Signori too, not to mention Zola. How many good strikers did Newcastle have in the 90s as well: Shearer was genuinely world class at Blackburn and when he first arrived here. Sir Les, Asprilla, Andy Cole and Pedro too. I've probably missed a few as well

If that's true about Hammond that sums up a lot of what is so shit about politics, i.e. willing to potentially wreak financial havoc just to win an election. Which is what got us here in the first place I suppose.
