  1. I see Chris Rogers has retired after getting two centuries in his final match for Somerset. Not a bad way to leave the game. Looks like the Middlesex v Yorkshire match at Lord's could well be a draw too (although they'll obviously try and manufacture a result if they can) meaning Somerset could be on course for their first County Championship.
  2. That Nick Kielce Poland weirdo reckoned he was a great employer because of that bonus scheme. Remember him?
  3. There's definitely a tactical reason as opposed to his supreme powers of diplomacy.
  4. Just thinking - shouldn't it be "Football Gunt"? Anyhoo...
  5. I know there's little point in going over old ground (but I'm going to anyway) but arguably Keegan's greatest strength was spotting players who could do a job. So Mike Ashley took that responsibility away from him and handed it to Dennis Wise. Worst thing was that Wise didn't even last very long after that.
  6. Haddaway and shite. Cabaye? Nolan? Enrique? Ba? Coloccini?
  7. I think I have more contempt for Owen in retrospect. What a pair of arseholes though
  8. Which all suggests there's a bit more to it. I was thinking along similar lines re: them having plenty flair players. I think sammynb probably summed it up nicely. Also, it's not like things are black and white. You can ask a player to do a bit more defensively without asking him to just protect his fullback at all costs or whatever.
  9. Think my answer to that's covered in the post I made after the one you quoted tbh. Edit: I'd also add to that that he's started four out of their six league games so it's not like he's only been hoyed on in the last 10 minutes every week.
  10. Warp have repressed the first three Authechre LPs. @@Tooj and one or two others might be interested https://bleep.com/release/76372-autechre-autechre-repress-bundle?utm_source=Bleep&utm_campaign=6df80b882f-Autechre_Represses9_22_2016&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_db8ca97389-6df80b882f-1298501
  11. Why should Brexit by so one-sided when it was a relatively close result? The argument that you have to give the 17m who voted for it exactly what they want and ignore the 16m or so who didn't makes no sense whatsoever. Especially when no one was told in advance what Brexit would actually mean.
  12. Only seen the league stats but he's got one shot on target, no goals and no assists from 150-odd minutes of game time. I'm a fan of his but he clearly isn't doing the business (for whatever reason) so far this season. If he's not contributing much in an attacking sense then, inevitably, his lack of defensive work becomes a bigger issue than it would otherwise. It's a bit fucking simplistic to argue it's his coach's fault just because he's questioned his work rate. For what it's worth I'd like to see him do well there. He's pissed off just about every manager he's ever worked for though.
  13. Managers want end product essentially. He's got no goals or assists so far this season.
  14. I think the points been made a few times that KK would've done well and been happy with being given the money the subsequent relegation cost.
  15. Ever felt the desire to imbed an ice pick in his head?
  16. CT's more like the back end of a pantomine horse
  17. I was in France on me hols and got a text off Scottish Mag telling me when it was announced. I swear I turned to my lass and said Joe Fucking Kinnear?
  18. Just for the sheer out of the blue nature of it. At least Carver made some sense in terms of our appearing to be safe and him already being here.
  19. Had a look on .com on the transfers page. 15 different managers, caretaker or otherwise, have been involved in transfers (or one in Steve Clarke's case) since KK was manager first time round. I'm assuming a lazy journalist has gone there and just used that list as a reference. As has been pointed out that includes caretakers but misses out Pearson and McDermott.
