  2. Are you sticking up for Man Utd fans or having a go at them?
  3. His name came up but I don’t view him as a remotely realistic option. Chelsea wouldn’t sell, the fee would be too high and so would the wages. He’s not creative. Quite why Southgate thought he’d work as a 10 is beyond me (especially with Kane wanting to drop into similar areas). Man City got rid because he commanded a big fee and probably isn’t deemed good enough in terms of chasing the holy grail (the CL) and their other options in wide areas. The insinuation the manager didn’t rate him runs counter to the amount of time spent working on Sterling’s game, the amount of game time he got and the end product as a result. It’s not like there were financial restraints governing that. If you play to his strengths - pace, movement and getting on the end of things then he’s a very good asset who would walk into our first XI. Walcott is shite by comparison
  4. The government picked Sue Gray to carry out the investigation. She made the ‘mistake’ of doing her job properly and finding out what actually happened. A livid Johnson, JRM and co showed what spoilt, entitled cunts they are by then spitting the dummy out because they didn’t get the cover up they wanted. So they tried to undermine her, CSHR, Cabinet Office the civil service as a whole. Understandably she’s accepted a better offer. It’s as simple as that imo
  5. Was just going to post about that. RIP
  6. One day late for World Book Day but never mind:
  7. Don’t fucking jinx it again, man
  8. Hopefully they can argue with mackems about who’s the biggest club in the championship next season
  9. I used to like on the Viz letters page where you would occasionally have someone responding to another letter in the same edition
  10. Ur jus jealuz coz ya weewise wha a speshul cluh they aaarrrr, la
  11. I read a good interview a little while back with Pat Nevin, about his musical interests etc. When ask Blur or Oasis he said the correct answer is always ‘Pulp’
  12. I’m not saying i feel old but it’s gone from my heroes dying to my peers dying lately
  13. See Klopp being completely unchallenged when bringing up our spending power
  14. The protests are basically - win us everything because we’re entitled to it
  15. Aye, it’s all gone quiet on the takeover front for Man Utd and Liverpool. Funny that
  16. I don’t really disagree. I just think from his pov it’s possibly/probably a case of annihilate the Tories and take it from there. As ewerk alludes to the FPTP system makes politics in this country a pathetic game of trying to appeal to / not offend almost everyone
  17. I don’t know but I do know you don’t change anything if you don’t get in. The way things are it’s only be virtue of fucking up that Labour don’t get a huge majority. They don’t a fair crack of the whip in the press as we know. Even a hint of backtracking on Brexit and the Mail etc are all over it.
  18. Starmer’s playing a blinder as per the polls. Unfortunately that’s all that really matters at this stage. Depressing as that is
  19. The whole Lee Anderson thing shows how desperate the party is, mind. The hierarchy will have nothing but disdain for him. But they’ve tried everything else so they might as well give the working class bigot a go as they’re facing oblivion anyway.
  20. To be fair I could imagine it applying to him
  21. 100%, there’s absolutely nothing new there at all. Apart from anything it was pretty murky the way it was handled by the PL. I.e. the way it indefinitely delayed until the piracy issue was sorted to the satisfaction of the Qataris. The PL just used the assurances about the separation as an excuse to say the deal could happen. The PIF is legally separate from the state as per Saudi law. In effect it’s the opposite but the PL don’t give a shit. Equally they won’t want a spotlight shone on how they handled the takeover process
  22. If the right player is available for the right price, we’ll be in for them. We aren’t going to buy just potential but we’ll obviously avoid players coming for a final pay day because we don’t need to even consider them. Like the last few seasons pre-Ashley. But we’ll definitely get better value abroad. And I agree the scouting network will be light years ahead of what we’ve been used to. Even with likes of Pope and Bruno they were established players, even if they had their best years ahead of them. But apart from those to build up the academy, I reckon most of those coming in from now on will be upgrades on the first team. Age will obviously be a consideration but we’re not going to pass on another Trippier purely because they’re the wrong side of 30.
