There’s a security company just over the road from there got cctv iirc

It’s not just that. They’ve stoked the culture war for ages purely for political gain. Not giving two fucks who gets (literally) hurt in the process. I’d struggle to trust anyone who doesn’t detest everything they stand for
-
Aye, we paid a fortune for a player worse than the home grown one we had. KK wanted FBs who could bomb in though. Barton was a 100 %-er but not great going in either direction
-
Tino wasn’t exactly a target man and rarely performed that well in the league himself. But Tino was out injured a fair bit that season too. It was playing as a 9 that wrecked JDT’s confidence though imo. We’ll never know I guess. Maybe he was better suited to other leagues

I like Henderson. I’d like to think he’s got more about him than saying something racist.
-
When Dalglish took over he played Elliott as one of a midfield 3 (I think he was an ever present in that run) where we did really well (think Elliott scored away to arsenal in a rare win at Highbury). We played some cracking football, came second and we’re in with a sniff of the title until the last 2or 3 games. Then he binned off half the team

I was, by coincidence, in Liverpool when Heysel happened. If you ever want to know just how much brass neck some Scousers have got - there was a fella in the city centre the next day selling cut price ‘Liverpool European Champions 1985’ T-shirts. I shit thee not. -
Didn’t Elliott score a cracking goal in the same match? Always rated him. He wasn’t the same when he came back. He’d suffered a bad injury on his debut for Bolton and was never the same player. Another good un binned by Dalglish
-
Not really defending Dalglish as he signed some absolute dross. I think we picked up Andreas Andersson for a similar fee at around the sane time (from the same club no less) as Arsenal paid for Vieira. There were some mitigating factors though, like the plc wanting to balance the books and his trying to buy a reserve team after KK had binned it (there’s a story to that too).
-
He was played as a number 9 when he was definitely a number 10 too though. He looked good pre-season in behind Shearer. He was hung out to dry in a manner not dissimilar to Joelinton
-
There’s a case for Bruce being competent and doing a decent job early in his career. He’s been robbing a living for well over a decade now. Also noteworthy he’s better regarded at clubs with little in the way of expectations. Edwards is a fraud himself though
-
Someone I know who works at the ground even said he was a horrible arrogant bloke. This was pre-takeover when we’d just signed Joelinton so before everyone hated him. Someone was saying that at least he seemed like a nice bloke (going off his media luvvies and the rep he had). This lass piped up and said all the players were sound and very respectful to the staff but Bruce basically blanked everyone he considered to be beneath him. Unless there was some issue, then he spoke to you like you were shit.

Imagine making the money he’s made out of football and still being a proper cuntish landlord. I mean I don’t know how he can be arsed but then there’s the fact his houses aren’t fit for habitation. I think what bugs me the most is how lazy he is. Unwilling to learn / adapt / develop but also even graft. Then he complains about it all the time.

The first cup final I can remember missing ( had a Saturday job at the Benton Hypermarket, as was) was 91 when Gazza did his cruciate. Throughout the 80s it was still a massive deal. Used to often watch it at Heaton Stannington. They used to have a friendly / charity game in at lunchtime. The dusty old club house with curtains drawn would be fucking packed and everybody seemed to taking a massive interest in it. Celebrating the goal(s) of who they wanted to win almost like it was Newcastle playing (which it never was of course). Also it was de rigueur to cheer as though a goal had been scored when someone came back into the room after going for a piss during the match at least once during the afternoon. Just to see them rush back in front of the telly to see who’d scored.
-
Charlie Crowe mentions it. Might've been 50/51. When Newcastle won the cup semi final they had a decent chance of winning the double. But the players were far more bothered about keeping themselves for for the final than the last couple of months of the league season.
-
It was mentioned when Roger Hunt died I think as he scored on the final

It was fine when LFC were essentially funded by the football pools and had a massive financial advantage over most of their rivals -
Not an original thought in their collective heads

I think it all boils down to being pissed off they bought us and not Man Utd. There are obviously legitimate issues with the ownership but Delaney hasn’t got a shred of integrity -
Good news is they won 4-1. Bad news is it was a fucking cup game so we’ll be back up for the league fixture next month

Wonder what type of person is still going to vote Tory at this point?

Fired one over Japan without warning the other day didn’t they? The crazy bastard is obviously feeling left out
