  1. Also, while I don’t deny Johnson has a charisma I can’t personally fathom, it’s massively overstated imo. Along with his being a ‘winner’. About 90% of his ‘huge mandate’ equates to Corbyn and people being sick of Brexit.
  2. There’s a bit of NUFC supporter syndrome to this. If the polls were anything like the opposite then we wouldn’t give an incumbent Labour government a hope. I accept people are morons and the Tories have the support of large swathes of the media. Hopefully whatever happens just further damages them. And I would have Johnson back in a heartbeat if I believe dozens of Tories would cross the chamber. Not sure they’d have the stones if it came to it though
  3. Not unlike ‘a nation mourns’ in many ways.
  4. Anyone else a fan of ‘How to with John Wilson’?
  5. Well it’s just a big game. Such an enjoyable one that he’s cut short one the 7 or 8 holidays he takes a year just to play it a little bit more
  6. Not that I was being serious. Because we could have a team filled with some of the very best players in the world and I still wouldn’t believe it until the final whistle had gone. But I do think he will give the cups a go. Going forwards we should have a squad able to compete on more than one front. Not just that but I think he’ll need a trophy sooner rather than later as the owners will demand it or get rid. The only other thing that would buy him time is regular CL football
  7. Labour’s next party political broadcast should just be all the Tory MPs tweets etc about “I’m backing Liz Truss”.
  8. That might work in the short term. They still wouldn’t vote to bring down the government as they’d lose their jobs for the most part.
  9. Probably. The thing is their base will go back to being selfish cunts even if Labour turn things round economically as they start worrying about ‘illegal immigrants’, ‘scroungers’, etc again
  10. They aren’t that competent or clever. He might be back at some point but I don’t see him being the next PM. Even if that were to happen it’s not some big master plan though.
  11. New York City too. You’d imagine he was on a fortune there as well
  12. Can’t really recall watching us in the past and thinking at 1-0 we’re coasting to this victory. But that’s how it felt. Even with all that stoppage time. It was like Everton didn’t believe they could get anything. Having the best defensive record in the league us uncharted territory too. Like others have said, not exactly a classic but still a comfortable win.
  13. The BBC’s version of ‘balance’.
  14. I would, from a Labour pov, (and this would play really well with the public) keep saying the Tories haven’t got the balls to call a general election and don’t trust the voters to decide who should be PM. That’s the only fucking drum I would bang at this point. Keep it that simple.
  15. I was just checking as I wanted the number of your dealer if you were being serious
  16. And a similar period for conference season
  17. Not really of the opinion that 1) he’s what we need or 2) we should sign strikers in the basis they’re better than Chris Wood tbh. I think he would do well in Italy though. If he can continue his form from early this season over a sustained period then it would obviously suggest he’s a pretty decent PL forward. Overall though his top flight record here is still pretty ordinary. One goal in four-ish I think
  18. I think the last line gives her too much credit
  19. The recent polls just confirm what most of us already knew. Your average Tory voter couldn’t give a fuck how bad things get until it starts to impact on their lives
  20. She reminds me of a blob fish
  21. Apparently (because I haven’t read it) he doesn’t even mention Klopp.
