  1. Barely being challenged there by the national broadcaster đŸ‘đŸ»
  2. Reform are essentially just killing the conservatives as a parliamentary force. In return for one seat. I can live with that. They’re fucking horrid but it is what it is. It’s a quirk of FPTP and might even be the beginning of the much needed electoral reform process. The other thing about Reform is that they’re a protest vote for the disaffected. If they merge with conservatives they lose that dubious appeal and what does Farage have to offer? 1 seat? If you join the two parties together you lose support imo. You don’t combine the two. If you’re still voting Tory at this point then Reform holds little appeal. And vice versa.
  3. Where’s a suicide bomber when you need one?
  4. Clearly unable to get her head round the concept of a household not going through loads of bottles of beer, wine and/or spirits every fortnight
  5. Don’t worry about it, she’s probably just pissed
  6. I don’t think he’d be interested. Being on a select committee would be too much like hard work. But it’s done on proportion of seats anyway. If Labour have a huge majority, as expected, they may allow more diversity in terms of other parties having more than their fair share if you like. But as 1/650th of MPs, Reform would have no right to his being a member of one. Let alone a chair of one. Chairs are also, by convention, meant to be representative of the amount of seats parties have. He could make a case for being a representative on one such committee. But his party in the commons (should he by the sole mp) would have much less of a case to argue this than even, say for example, Plaid or the DUP.
  7. Howe’s formation with this set of players would work really well imo. I’ve thought a few times the ‘double pivot’ is too cautious, especially against teams looking to sit deep and hit England on the break. I could elaborate but I can’t be arsed / don’t care enough
  8. They’re predicting reform will win there. But also that it’ll be their only seat. I don’t really think it’ll change his position as serial grifter much at all. He certainly won’t be interested in doing a job for his constituents in any meaningful way.
  9. She’s the closest thing they’ve got to a competent, sensible public speaker. And she’s fucking tapped
  10. I wonder if she remembers the conversation we had upstairs in the Trent about Wuthering Heights. I doubt it though as she was fucking bladdered. So much so I just got her a coke a couple of times when she asked for a double vodka and coke and she didn’t even notice.
  11. General election 2024: 10 things we learned from the Labour manifesto
  12. If he’s arsed enough then his next quest could be PR. It’s the only way Reform become a force. I think he’ll go back to the sidelines (possibly USA) after the election though. You’re right about his being dangerous and indulged though. Like the lesson should’ve well and truly been learned. This is where I agree with SpongeBob and Rayvin about the dishonesty re: Brexit. Because in the case of Farage, he should be hauled over the coals for the pup he sold. Then taken to task about his inevitable ‘version of Brexit’
  13. Nicky Campbell is horrible
  14. Alex

    Dan Gosling

    Proper Ashley signing
  15. Shouldn’t they have numbers on the seats if they are meant to be from Roker Park?
  16. I’d probably vote Green or Lib Dem if we had PR.
  17. It’s an election campaign, mate. It’s bollocks and if Labour want the sort of growth that’ll allow the public spending they desire, then they’ll have to accept Brexit won’t work. And subsequently ally more closely with the EU. But they can’t just come out and say that because it’ll cost them a landslide victory. No one actually sticks to their manifesto either. Events overtake things. I do know where you’re coming from. And it is depressing. But it’s also not the set in stone, this will never change position you seem to think it is. The public mood is shifting and you’re looking at a Parliament with about 5/6s of the MPs who were pro-remain. Also, as Renton points out, we can’t just say we want to rejoin and then the EU will let us
  18. Fishing industry was my ‘favourite’. It was used for symbolism despite being fucking minute part of the economy as a whole. Many in the industry came out and said they didn’t care what the consequences were for everyone else if they got a better deal. Then the Tories blinked first, backed down and they got shafted like everyone else. Boo fucking hoo
  19. That’s the only thing he seems to be good at which obviously isn’t a great look.
  20. Reminds me of this, which the Amazon algorithm thought would appeal to me for some reason: apparently written by the club’s historian. Although to give him his due, going off the synopsis, he definitely knows his audience: Makes you think
