Absolutely! Got to be taking it seriously this year. We're safe in the top half of the league without genuinely challenging the top 4. Let's go all out for the cup for once! Best 11 to start each game in the competition please Padew. It's our best chance in years.

***Official Mike Ashley Euro express thread***
Dr Gloom replied to Baggio's topic in Newcastle Forum
Here's a thought: why don't the mods create a new forum within toontastic entitled "the great Leazesmag debate". Then anyone that wants to do battle with him can do so without cluttering up every thread with the same old nonsense, Leazesmag will have a designated area where can harp on about finishing in the top 3 and having the 14th biggest revenues in football or whatever as much as he likes without irritating the rest of the board and hopefully the main board can get back to threads that don't always end up with an argument about whether Shepherd is a better chairman than Ashley. Honestly, it's killing this place. Something's got to be done. Just a suggestion like. -
just been spinning. kettlebells yesterday, boxing tomorrow. getting back into a nice training routine and feel so much better for it.

you're either starving yourself or burning some serious calories to drop that much weight in a couple of weeks. ultimately though, as i always say, weight is just a number. means fuck all if you're body composition is shite. who wants to lose weight while retaining love handles and man boobs?

So Jonas, one of most hard working players, is dropped for Marvaux and BA is played on the left of a front 3, is that right? Found it a bit strange meself. Thought Marveux was a winger? Anyway until we shift Santon to the right and get a proper left-back I don't see how you can leave Jonas out. A post worthy of Deano that one like

agree with alex about him being one dimensional but still a decent player. i wonder now we've got this cisse lad, would anyone take him back? i would, but there'd be no guarantee he'd start all the time with those other two up front and ben arfa pushing for a forward role too. he'd still be a good option to have if you want to mix it up and go dazzler direct. better than the likes of shola and best too, shirley. still, never been a £35m player. could an old fashioned target man ever be worth that amount? for that cash you'd want a silva or a aguerro.

Miles Kane's new album - its canny
-
Aye. Would be class if his second coming there had the same impact as when he was with us - a midtable finish and a no show in a cup final.
-
I wonder how shit they've got to get before the fans turn on him.
-
Fucking hilarious that 35m was pledged on the back of half a season. I still think Carroll will come good, just not at Liverpool as long a they don't get crosses in the box. He's quite a simple style of player to utilise - get some balls into the box for him to attack. Don't expect him be working the channels or getting in behind - he's just not that sort of player. Can see him still making an impact at another club or under another manager at Liverpool. I think they'll cut their losses with him though. He's never been anywhere near a 35m player.

we were too late to get into the 8 bells. was one in one out by the time we got there so we had to have a couple of £4.20 pints of carling in the ground instead.
-
it was a pretty obvious stamp. it's not like he can even use the 'his head was where i needed to stand excuse'. his foot has gone actively looking for it. parker's a lucky boy that he wasn't badly hurt. balotelli should expect a three game ban.

I'll not be voting for the current lot, that's for sure.

How many points will we finish the season with?
Dr Gloom replied to Baggio's topic in Newcastle Forum
50 points would be a disaster imo. We've got 33 points nuw man. So what you're saying is if we average just under a point a game for the next 18 games we're doing well?? FFS W4 D5 L9 would get us 50 points man. Have a word with yourselves. The hardest games of the season have gone away in Manchester and Liverpool where we're always pish. If we don't get 60 I'll be disappointed. W9 D3 L6 would give us 60 man, and that wouldn't even be that good in my view. Home games alone QPR Villa Wolves Sunderland Norwich Liverpool Bolton Man City Stoke If there's not 7 wins from them games alone something is wrong. If someone had had offered us 50 points at the start of the season, you'd snap it up. We spent next to fuck all and sold a bunch of first team players Over 50 points is a massive achievement because no one fancied it at the start of the season, well except maybe CT an Deano. Obviously from the position we're in now, you'd like us to chalk up a few more, which what I said in the post you quoted. I reckon we could end up in the high 50s or low 60s, which would be our best return for years. Don't know about 7 home wins though. Thats a bit optimistic I reckon. Bound to be a few draws in the mix as well as defeats. -
Fucking annoying game to watch. Haven't seen us roll over like that for a while. Proverbial game of two halves like. Never saw it coming at half time. It was panic on the streets of London after their first went in.
-
Horrible performance yesterday. That was the worst side of Shola. Annoying that we see no show performances like that from him all too often. Best wasn't much bette like. I put a much blame on the two big lads up front for the defeat yesterday as on the defence. They just couldn't make it stick second half

Alan Pardew - Poltroon sacked by a forrin team
Dr Gloom replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
i can't remember us not looking solid for two months. we had a run of poor results and some lackluster performances but i'd say the one thing we've been this year that we haven't in previous years is solid. we're not always the prettiest on the eye going forward but we don't ship loads of goals anymore and every player seems to know where his position is. for all pardew's flaws he has made us difficult to beat. something we haven't been for a long time.- 10610 replies

Dr Gloom replied to Kid Dynamite's topic in Newcastle Forum
don't agree with that at all. we had a blip for about a month but there were some tough fixtures around then. and even then, we never took a hiding off anyone. those embarrassing 5 and 6 nill drubbings where our defence caves in and we roll over seem a thing of the past. all in all this season, our defence has been very solid. we've hardly leaked any goals. and players like ryan taylor - who in the past looked liked a liability - don't look out of place in the first team. taylor's positional awareness (his weak point in previous seasons) is massively improved. and for that i think credit has to go to the manager and the coaching staff. so there- 10610 replies

it's hard to forget this shit. a run of good results will never hide the fact ashley is a cunt for this move.

can't fucking wait till tomorrow. meeting the lads in putney early afternoon for a few pre match beverages. hoping for 3 points and a good game. an ameobi goal would be a bonus as just put him in the fantasy football team.

yeah, my 5 a side team had a similar experience. they had a gap in the top league which they put us straight in after we entered. we plummeted season after season before finding our natural level. we now yoyo between the 3rd and 4th divisions. for all the fitness in the world there's fuck all you can do with some of these young whippets going like shit off a stick. hard not to resort to professional fouls at times. not the best idea where we play as our league is full of young chav teams happy to kick off.

right now i'm listening to the calibre mix from the bunch of cuts night at cable i went to just before christmas. not sure there are many fans of dnb on here but i've copied the download link below just in case anyone's curious. calibre is by far the best example of this kind of music today if you ask me. deep tunes and rolling basslines. the mc is a bit annoying listening to the mix back but it's all good at the event itself. they're just there to hype up the crowd really. there are far worse than this drs lad too tbh. first track is a bit meh but it all picks up after that. tracks 2-5 are all belters http://uploaded.to/file/y5a94us7

i'm feeling like a right smug git sitting at my desk this afternoon after my 5th session at the gym this week. monday - kettlebells, tuesday - spinning, wednesday - boxing, thursday - circuits, friday - kettlebells. just did a ridiculous session of doubles on the kettlebells. swings, cleans, jerks and squats with a kb in each hand. plus some deadlifts, lunges and military press using just one. i seriously can't recommend this form of exercise enough for anyone looking to burn fat while maintaining muscle mass (the holy grail). it's short intense workouts and it works a treat. i already feel noticably tighter than i did on january 1. going to go for a bodyfat measurement next week but i feel like i've dropped a percentage point or two in just three weeks of training. i'm absolutely buzzing. it's easy to forget how good working out makes you feel. i've been eating pretty clean all week too. can't wait for my curry and wine tonight!

us football fans are by nature a fickle lot. basically it all comes down to success on the pitch. the owner actively looked like he didn't give a shit and the fans turned. he's done nowt to try and win us back on side - in fact sometimes he seems to go out of his way to wind the support up (closing the signign section, renaming the stadium, selling key players etc etc). but if he manages to stumble on a formula that delivers success then you'd have to give him credit, whatever you think of him. it's hard not to be sceptical in the meantime though. I'm pretty sure the recent turnaound in fortune has a lot to do with luck rather than any grand designs on ashley's part. time will tell but i've got to agree about that piece. beats the chronicle writing about his weight loss, that's for sure.

January Transfer window 2012- Deadline Day Madness
Dr Gloom replied to Lake Bells tits's topic in Newcastle Forum
He's not a target man. He goes hunting for it every day and it's boring as fuck. I've got him on ignore and there's still no escape from it. I try my best not to respond but it's impossible when you see him quoted in every fucking thread. I agree he's done nowt deserving of a ban so far but there's always hope.
