it's always been a bullshit non story. it's clear the fans aren't calling for his head - he might even have close to 100% support from the terraces now after the result at the weekend plus the players are all behind him. i was wondering where it came from. it's almost like the media had to stir some some shite up because we're doing ok and we haven't been a soap opera this season. it will have disappointed more than a few of them. the contract issue on the other hand is a real story and should be addressed.

try not having a drink for a few days to get over the initial cravings. once you go a week or something you get the physical cravings out of your system. then it's the mental cravings. i'm at the stage now where i don't crave one sobre at all but it's still tough not to crack when i'm down the pub and my mates are all off outside for a snout.

over 10 goals would be a great return from a midfielder.

Alright Lads, First post so lets get the minds thinking.

perhaps i'm being a little harsh on digger, but for me he will always symbolise daglish's move to boot out a load of keegan favourites and replace them with old cloggers well past their best. -

digger barnes was horrible man. legs totally gone by the time we signed him. same goes for rush. i considered putting in viana given how much he cost but i remember the odd good game and goal from him although he was mostly shite. how could i forget nacho gonzales? -
yeah i agree. despite the fact that hughton has over achieved, ashley is unlikey to provide the investment for us to kick on.
-
tbf to hughton, we could well end up with a decent finish despite Ashley investing close to fuck all

sounded mint on the telly. wish i'd been there to sample it

i would be amazed if nolan got a call up, but if kevin davies can, why not?
-
he's had some shocking games over the years. he looks stronger on the ball these days though. i don't know if i'm just getting caught up in yesterday's result but his overall play looks more assured now too. some of his link up play and distribution yesterday was class, and you can't argue with the two finishes. if he can keep it up and stay injury free, he might finally get a proper run in the team. he's got to realise that his age, it's now or never. it's up to him as to whether he wants to be remembered as a nearly man and perennial substitute or a late developer who finally came good.

destroyed, annihilated, humiliated - take your pick

i wouldn't be too surprised if he reverted to 4-5-1 for that but would be nice to see him stick to the winning side. you have to wonder whether this 4-4-2 will be strong enough to mix it with the top sides but on this form, we should stick with it against the rest. tiote is the player that makes it work. you need a defensive midfielder of his class to get away with playing one fewer int he middle of the park than most teams put out these days.

great performance and overall this season has been by far his best for us already. nolan man of the match for me though today.
-
I wouldn't go that far. He's had matches where he's just lazy and utterly anonymous, then he has matches like today when he puts a decent shift in and is rightly rewarded with goals. he was injured a lot of last season. when he played, he looked sharp albeit against some pretty piss poor teams. this season, he's looked good when he's started. he was sharp against chelsea, last week against everton and again today. he showed some nice touches and dribbles today as well as good vision in some of the passes he played out to the flanks to start moves and the two goals. i'd say for this season it's a case of sho far, so good
-
give him a new contract and hire whoever he wants as his no 2
-
aye, fair play to barton this season - he's impressed, finally. can't see routledge getting back into the side anytime soon.
-
respect to the fenham pele. he's looked good the last couple of seasons now tbf to him
-
now, we've all had our criticisms to make but fair play to him, he was excellent today. he arguably still doesn't do enough off the ball but with tiote mopping up next to him, he's less of a passenger. and you can't argue when he keeps popping up with goals. keep it up skipper!

chris. big up yourself. fully deserved the hughton wonderland chorus. give the man a new contract. what more does he need to do? big name managers aren't always the answer.
-
don't change a winning side... first rule of management. nice to see us go for it with two up front.

my flatmate said she looked like a cabbage patch doll. She had a pet lip on when they were rowing on the step of the t-shirt shop. Liz is the front-runner now I would say, very successful task for her. she has all the natural confidence of a fit bird. the dyke was awful and deserved to walk, though her unique vocabulary was amusing.

i'm 4 weeks without a snout now. best run i've had in a while. real test will be the christmas pissup season, which is just around the corner.

Video Game Addiction - when it becomes a problem.
Dr Gloom replied to Dolly Potter MD's topic in General Chat
sounds like a right loser tbh. the only game i play these days in pro evo - and only when the boys are over and the wives are all busy. i always found video games more of a group social thing. a few beers/smokes and a few games with the lad. can't imagine playing any games on my own these days. even if i wanted to, the wife wouldn't allow it. i used to quite like champ man back in the day mind.
