  1. to be fair to viana, he was a flop but did have the occasional decent game. unlike luque who was the biggest flop ever. youtube-tastic
  2. get it posted. i haven't had a pm yet either
  3. all sounds a bit familiar doesn't it?
  4. balls, got dawson in me fantasy footie team
  5. papers reckon he's revertint to 4-4-2 again. he wants sacking if he's so stubborn he won't give up on flat banks of four when every other major football nation in the world has.
  6. this is the first car i drove. thanks a lot dad. i tried driving it into the ground but the bastard thing wouldn't die. he only went and changed it right after i left home for uni. git.
  7. They've all got that little bit of Hitler in them as far as I'm concerned. Too orderly for my liking.
  8. i don't get how they get away with it. your basically forced to shell out a small fortune to someone that does fuck all for the property. should be made illegal if you ask me.
  9. yeah, i'm loving the pile-ons after goals go in. looks like they genuionely enjoy playing for each other. that in itself presents a worry though. hopefully the spirit won't be disrupted when the inevitable happens and we're forced to drop the likes of smith and nolan for better players - it seems those two had a lot to do with fostering this new togetherness among the players.
  10. On paper the side that went down looks better than our current outfit. But we're playing with a spirit and unity we didn't have then which could make a massive difference come the end of the season
  11. i'm not surprised blackpool is up there - horrible place. high unemployment, low wages, and even lower life expectancy - the lowest in the country if i remember correctly. i was in up there the other day with work. what a horrible place. kept getting interrupted doing a piece to camera by this charver guest house owner dressed in shorts, socks with a pint and a spliff in hand, in the middle of the day outside. camera man had never been north of the watford gap and didn't know what to make of it all. the guesthouse guy's rooms for going for £15 per night. he proudly told us he makes all his money from selling beer and lining up prossies for his guests - mainly stag do types.
  12. get Mike Ashley to back him seriously for quality players. so he has to do the impossible to win over the support?
  13. What do you all reckon hughton has to do this season to convince the support that he's the right man for the job? I think survival is the minimum, but there will still be sceptical voices if we only just stay up. Somewhere around 13th-17th is about par I reckon. Anything from 12th upwards and he might start winning hearts and minds. He obviously has the support of the players. Getting the undivided backing of the fans would be a massive achievment for him.
  14. More clubs than tiger woods
  15. illy from the supermarket. monmouth from borough market. either or make a belting cup in my espresso machine
  16. tying to sell my flat and was advised by my esate agent to renew or serve notcie on my lease, which has just fallen below 80 years. the freeholder's management company just sent me a letter saying it'll cost £20k to extend it to 99 years. anyone been through this before? is this quote an utter pissatke? i knew i'd pay a premium because of the marriage value thing but never expected this much. the agent said it'd be around £10-15k.
  17. do any top sides use 3-5-2 anymore? seems like it went out of fashion in the early part of the noughties when mourinho inspired everyone to start playing 4-3-3
  18. more or less the same, though i'd be tempted bomb taylor for simspon to see if he can cut it at this level. guthrie for barton on last season's form. barton to keep his place if he keeps this season's form up. i'd keep harper in net too for now. i reckon hughton will try to squeeze nolan in there somewhere too. though if everyone's fit, i agree he should be benched, as should smith.
  19. i was impressed with stoke's signings like. i would have been happy with those three at the last minute. sad like that gudjohnsen goes to club like stoke instead of us when we're crying out for a quality striker like him
  20. agree that ashley hasn't splashed the cash that he could or should be. but given those circumstances that hughton is working under, don't you think he's done alright? i think we were just a couple of signings away from it being a very good window. it certainly exceeded my very limited expectations anyway.
  21. i reckon that under the circumstances, ashley not putting his hands in his pockets in other words, this was a decent window. looking forward to see ben arfa in action. sol could prove to be an inspired signing if he can stay fit. not sure about perch but full back was a position that needed adding to, plus he's versatile. i would have liked to see another striker signed, and perhaps another left back. what do you lot reckon?
