  1. i woke the wife up shouting "shearer" once while i was a kip
  2. smoking, but it seems like i might have it cracked at last (though i'll always be a smoker at heart even if i never smoke anything again) biting fingernails. pretty pathetic not to have cracked this as a 30 something. i managed to control and manage my nose picking a few years back after relentless complaining from mrs gloom.
  3. Last time I watched it, it was hulk hogan and the ultimate warriror. Strictly for kids and American morons

  5. i was no fan of shepherd but you'd take him in a million years over ashley. he made stupid decisions that in my opinion stopped us from kicking on and genuinely challenging again after sbr re-established us as a top 6 side. but for all his fuck ups, from the pr howlers to sacking managers at the wrong time and appointing clowns that no one wanted, at least he cared about the club. at least he had some ambition. you can't say that about ashley.
  6. i do know it. did a hostile environment course last year. the guys leading the course both had thousand yard stares. they were former sas men that worked as medical and tactical consultants in various ware zones around the world and had clearly seen a lot of death in their time. sadly, they told us that the reality is that cpr rarely works. it's not like hollywood when people just snap back into life and start breathing again. that rarely happens.
  7. Fucking hell. reminds me of that sketch from eddie murphy's raw. "i want half your shit!"
  8. they're all decent squad players. i'd like to see all of our current front line strikers on the bench. shola would be a more acceptable option if he had a bellamy type buzzing around him instead of lovenkrands.
  9. I donno if it's still there like but there was one about 10 years ago between The White Horse at Parsons Green, and Dawes Road, on Munster Road ran by Greeks absolutely superb, but you're right everywhere else is fuckin shite. Long way to go for you from Croydon to Fulham just for a decent fish and chips. croydon is a half an hour drive from me man
  10. absolutely. the more muscle mass you have, the more quickly and efficiently your body will burn fat. you can do weights without beefing and bulking up. i use them mainly as a way of burning calories while not wasting away. an effective weight training session will burn as many calories and help shed as much fat as an effective cardio session.
  11. Yeah, it was strange how many different managers kept with him because he was "great in training" and "still a youngster" etc. whereas Keegan came in, initially gave him the big talk up to boost his confidence as KK is the master of, then looked at what he did, saw enough and wanted rid! Totally, couldn't get him to Stoke quick enough. As I tweeted earlier: Leazeslad - Shola plays like he's had the strongest bucket ever before the kick off, nothing will ever change my opinion that hes a lazy twat it's a shame innit. wasted talent. one of those players that can be a match winner on his day but never really really kicked on to fulfil his potential. think you could be right that it's an attitude problem with him. he's not a total donkey. he does some good stuff at times. it's fuckign frustratign when he has one of those games where he ambles about, holding up nowt but fresh air and air kicking when the ball comes his way. shola's maybe another example of a young footballer that just made too much big money too early. you have to question his desire to put the effort in needed to graduate from a young squad player with potential to a top established player.
  12. what did he actually even say? just watched it on youtube and couldn't make it out. didn't sound that bad to me
  13. you can't get decent fish and chips in london anywhere. all the chippies are ropey chinese or kebab shops. the flip side is south london has some of the best indian restaurants and takeaways around. we have a local nice pizza place too in herne hill called firezza that delivers proper stone baked italian style thin crust pizzas. got to say though, a grimy style takeaway pizza is brilliant every now and then.
  14. Is training everyday ok or is it better alternate training and rest days? i think training every day is fine as long as its varied. i wouldn't hit the same muscles two days running if i was weight lifting. i try to rest or do a little cardio after doing a heavy day of weights to allow muscles to recover and rebuild. cardio every day is fine as long as you're getting plenty of calories - and sleep.
  15. I think that's very generous. It was his biggest spending window...but the outlay was only £6.6m http://www.toontastic.net/board/index.php?...9&hl=ashley Nutz is confident Ashley will double his previous high net spend....despite the statement from the club saying we won't spend big. Think positive and it will happen Gloom, Ashley won't be able to resist. i was referring more to paying the going rate on transfer fees and wages rather than overall net spend, but you're right of course. i think he sanctioned a £10m fee on collicini, a £6m fee on barton and £80k and £60k per week wages respectively. he hasn't even done that since. plus the overall net spends have reduced to the point that we often make profits in transfer windows. nevermind all that though, if we're all just close our eyes and think positive happy thoughts, everything will be alright won't it?
  16. Tenner? I gave a tenner to comic relief, SBR Foundation means more to me than that. £50? Fair enough. (I thought you were a young lad and didn't want to put something ott for you, so good on you). Good luck! Im 25 mate just good to give a little back. Im confident by the way why? when has ashley spent big recently? i think you can count one transfer window back when he first took over when he splashed the cash. since then, he's been making minor net spends but mainly making profits, hence why we have been doing so poorly. your optimism on this is misguided i'm afraid. i'd love for you to be right of course but i really don't think being positive will encourage mike ashley to reverse his recent spending trend.
  17. Back training tomorrow after three weeks paternity leave where i did next to no exercise and generally ate like a fat bastard. Going to do a savage session of total body circuits with my trainer tomorrow, boxing Tuesday, spinning Wednesday, more weights Thursday, rest on Friday and Saturday then 11 a side footie on Sunday. Rinse and repeat. Bring the mother fucking ruckas.
  18. Does that feel better unloading your burden of guilt years after unloading your guts? And to think I nearly got away with it after all these years
  19. Bollocks. Mouthing off on a message board has fuck all to do with the backing the lads get. I tell it like i see it on here but back the team till the final whistle at the match. Your particular brand of mindless optimism on here is just annoying.
  20. there was a phantom shitter at my school who used to drop logs in the middle of the floor in the lads' bogs. he was never named and shamed.
  21. i could see barton dropping a heed on him tbh
