He's a good player, without a doubt, but more around the £10M mark. his goal record is good enough if he stays for the duration of his contract. i think the bigger problem with anelka is he's likely to want to fuck off to another club after a season or two.

IMO we should have gone the extra mile to sign both these players Don't suppose it will change some "opinions" that the clubs current transfer policy of bringing in 17 year old kids and hoping to gain success on the cheap is the way to go instead. emre is more creative than anyone else we've got in the middle of the park. not to say that he shouldn't be replaced in the long term but he's our best bet in that position until the next transfer window. i'm still hopeful he can contibute something. like others have said, he's got the touch and technique but needs to stay fit and find more consistency. a few goals from central midfield wouldn't hurt either. back on topic - putting the doom and gloom aside....we should have just enough to avoid relegation
