15 games isn't long enough. there are many examples of managers over the years doing nothing for their first season or two before turning things around once they've had time to build a squad....ferguson at manure and sir bobby for us to name just two. there's no way of knowing whether sam will be a success for us but at least give him a season or two to see. constant chopping and changing does the club no good. the only way i'd advocate sacking the manager in his first season would be if we were in a genuine relegation battle. we're not. i can see sam doing at least as well as the rodent last season. if we finish lower than we did last season then he's going to be under pressure in his second year in charge but ffs, don't sack the man after 15 games.

i'd be looking for something second hand at that price tbh mate.

Flying lessons top marks for originality -
assuming you've got one i'm in a need of a little inspiration this year and would like avoid schleping around oxford st if at all possible. but what christmas present do you get for a women that already has everything? anyone got any suggestions? i was thinking a watch but the ones i like are all north of £1k ....or maybe a personal shopping day at selfridges, but that's almost like buying your nan a gift basket from the body shop - total indication that you can't think of anything original. anyone got any thoughts on the subject? what are you getting your other half this year?

Newcastle's 'vicious' fans shock me, says Barton
Dr Gloom replied to Jimbo's topic in Newcastle Forum
barton should keep his mouth shut until he's put in at least one decent performance for us. then he might have half a leg to stand on. cretin -
i went to stoke to watch doncaster rovers get promoted to the football league a few years back with a mate of mine who's a big donny fan. i can confirm it's a shithole....especially the area near the ground.

what about simply red? nah, just kidding. joy division would be ahead of oasis for me though

no way. hot and sour is far superior

the only time to sack a manager afte 15 games is if you're really struggling in the bottom 3. i think we'll be safe, so it's only right we give sam more time. i'm far from convinced that he's the right man to take us forward but he's only been here 5 minutes and at least we showed a bit of fight yesterday.

me too. would love a link to live stream of the game if anyone's got one. cheers in advance

not bt. it's rubbish. i'm with sky at the moment; they're cheaper, faster and much more reliable

i'm definitely fitter than i was this time last year. haven't been able to give up smoking when pissed though (yet again).

i guess you're right about the rugger buggers but i still think towns like leeds and newcastle have a small town mentality - you get clowns who go out on a friday to pull and if they don't manage it then kicking off with some random is the next best thing. you don't get that in london, at least not in my experience. you only find these sort of radges in the outskirts of london - places like croydon for example. from my experience of boozing in different places down the years, i'm far less likely to have some pissed up radge start a fight with me over nothing in london than i am in towns like newcastle, sheffield, leeds, nottingham, bristol etc. no one has ever picked a fight with me in a london bar. people go on about how dangerous places like brixton and hackney are but it's only the gangs shooting each other. the chances of someone kicking off in a bar are slim. Typical Londoner, if you're from anywhere else you have a 'small' town mentality. i'm a geordie and lived in newcastle for 18 years. love the place and still get back home whenever i can. but when out boozing in newcastle (and this goes for other small towns too) i often get the feeling that someone is liable to smash a pint glass over my head if i look at them in the wrong way. i've never felt that threatened boozing in london. disclaimer - i avoid the likes of croydon.

it'll be a bloody big mark

WOD is definitely worth watching if you have it but I would definitely recomend Paris Texas if you've not seen that yet. Quite possibly the best film I've seen this year. now paris texas is an absolute belter. one of the most visually beautiful films i've ever seen and an amazing soundtrack from ry cooder. -

not sure about that make though people. i bought a "red" portable dvd player a few years ago for £70 from tesco instead of spending the extra £100 on a quality brand and it promptly packed in. never again....only the likes of sony/panasonic/pinoneer for me now when it comes to tvs etc
-
This happened in Leeds btw and London is hardly devoid of violent crime. the majority of violent crime in london is largely gangs shooting each other over drugs. or chavs beating each other up in places like croydon and stratford....again small town mentality. the same goes for leeds imo. i got started on minding my own business by hyde park when i was a student.

move to london is my advice. i haven't come close to any trouble in the 8 years i've lived here and yet the last time i was out on the lash back home someone tried kicking off with me. small town mentality tbh
