some of the criticisms of london are "wide of the mark" (Alan Oliver™) it's got its shithole areas but so have most big cities - the toon included. too many geordies make as many dodgy generalisations about london life as the "it's grim up north" and "howay spuggy man" southern arseholes. i live in east dulwich which is zone 2 and about half an hour door to door from where i work. it's got two lush parks within walking distance of my front door, tree-lined steets, decent football bars plus gastro pubs. and last time i checked there wasn't a cloud of smog hanging in the air or a gang of guitar playing, purse-snatching immigrants on my street corner . too many of my own mates from back home slag off london when all they're basing it on is a few beers near a shithole football like west ham or white heart line and night out in leicester square. it really isn't that bad.

there's a difference in explaining why we had to raise the price at the last minute and issuing a cretinous fat fred style statement. as it stands, it looks like we have raised the price after already agreeing a fee because we haven't said otherwise. not the most professional way of doing business and unless there's a statment otherwise that's what the rest of the premiership will be thinking of our new owners.

we're surely one of the best qualified nations to host a world cup. we've got the stadiums, the history and all the games will be well attended. just look at the quality of the stadiums to choose fom wembley (90,000) old trafford (73,00) and probably around 80,000+ by the time of that world cup emerates (60,000) new liverpool stadium (60,000+) st james (52,000) possibly rising to 60,000 if we extend the gallowgate city of manchester stadium (48,000) stadium of shite (48,000) villa park (42,000) stamford bridge (42,000) then you've got your swanky new modern grounds for the smaller games - st mary's, pride park, reebok stadium, walker's stadium etc

nobby's a legend and he loves the club and the area. why would he leave? sam should keep offering him one year extensions as long as his legs are up for it. he's got more class and vision than most of the rest of our squad put together. worth keeping even if he only plays half the games in a season.

i really liked highbury too. the new stadium is horrible. so generic, bland and overpriced. i think if mort carries on fat fred's plans to extend the gallowgat, we'll have a far better sadium.

i think we'll do well to get a draw personally. it's a difficult place to go and get a result at. mind you, a win there would set us up nicely for a good start to the season for once - our first month isn't looking that bad.
