caling for the death of a certain group of people or person is a hate crime. It isn’t up for debate. Those are the laws of the land
-
this is whataboutery. of course it isn't on the same magnitude as what is happening in gaza, but that's not what we're talking about. they're calling for the death of an entire army, which is made up almost exclusively of jewish people inciting murder on stage is a hate crime - take it up with the police, not me. it was a fucking stupid thing to do and the heat they're getting now shouldn't surprise them.
-
if you lead a chant of "death to the IDF" you are inciting the murder of an entire army. i'm not here to defend the IDF - or the despicable government giving them their orders - but a chant like that is a different ball park to "free palestine" or "fuck kier starmer". like i said, the army includes many peaceniks who want fuck all to do with what is happening but tragically have no choice - they are forced to serve
-
it can be applied to any minority, not just jews. i wouldn't tell a person of colour, or a woman, or any minority what they should or shouldn't find offensive to them because i have zero idea about their lived experience
-
It's not really for you to judge what is antisemitic and what isn't. plenty of jews found it offensive and that's all that matters on that score. i found those chants pretty distasteful and the morons chanting along with it in the crowd don't have a clue about the reality. for example, my cousins' kids are all pro-peace and do not want to have to fight in this conflict but they don't get to choose to serve in the IDF, or not. i like kneecap. i watched the set and enjoyed it. no problem with pro-palestinian chanting as far as i'm concerned. calling for the death of a bunch of conscripted soldiers is another matter.

kings of the lowball offer

i don't think they have many PSR worries tbh, so £40m on a young prospect who can't get regular football for them isn't the worst idea. he could end up being another Hall/Livramento type signing, were it to happen. it also appears £40m is towards the upper end of what the club feel comfortable paying for a single player. if rumours are to believed we won't go as high as the £55-60m the likes of Chelsea are happy to throw at every signing.
-
he's a left footer who can play in midfield or as an inverted RW. i think he's an exciting prospect. doesn't have the blistering pace of elanga but i think he has a higher technical ceiling. he could be a smart buy for £30-40m.
-
elliot for £40m, or elanga for £60m?
-
yeah, I want to know who he’s talking about too

There’s going to be quite the meltdown on social media if we end up with DCL on a free

Oh, and this made me lol

I enjoyed a few bits and pieces. It’s obviously no longer a guitar festival. It has become a commercial behemoth while still retaining some of what made it special 30 years ago. It’s clearly more sanitised but at least you don’t get the TK Maxx sponsored stages etc like you do at other festivals. Wet Leg, Busta Rhymes, the libertines, Supergrass, Pulp, Charlie XCX, Four Tett, Prodigy, Self esteem, Kneecap and Lola Young among my favourites of what I’ve watched so far
-
I think it was just the “death to the IDF” chant that was censored in Bob Vylan’s set? I saw plenty of pro-Palestine chants led by musicians in the coverage I’ve watched. As well as “fuck kier Starmer” during kneecap’s set
-
£20-30m maybe? murphy just had his best season of his career aged 30. Elanga is what, 22 or 23 with his best years ahead of him
-
romano tweeted this morning that it's close to being done
-
elanga is going to cost £60m, i reckon. it seems unlikely forest will let him go for less given that's how much every other PL attacker seems to have gone for this window and they don't have to sell. it's exactly like us slapping a £150m fee on isak. they're under no pressure to sell him for less so it depends on how much eddie wants him. i have my doubts that elanga is a £60m player but you have to defer to sir eddie. and at least with this one it sounds like the player wants the move - some of his social media posts haven't exactly been subtle.
-
could well be agent talk, who knows? but romano reckons we had two bids rejected and he is one of the more reliable transfer hacks plus joao pedro is a player we've been heavily linked with before so howe clearly likes him. it sounds credible. i completely trust eddie but if the rumours are to be believed we are struggling to meet the valuations for the PL-proven players he seems to have targeted this time.
-
yeah, could well be the case. i personally wish him nothing but bad luck after he snubbed us for a second time. i don't see why chelsea are so attractive beyond the wages they they offer and i suppose the lure of living in london. they've already got so many attacking players, the odds of being a regular starter there aren't great.
-
i understand why the club sets a valuation on each target. if we spunked £60m on pedro then £60m on elanga it blows a massive hole in our budget. i'm sure they're also aware that PL wingers are pricey and that they are unlikely to prize away some of the players we've been linked with for less than the £60m they have ended up going for. chelsea got him because they stumped up the asking price (yes, there are other issues such as wages/attractiveness, already discussed) but if we can't afford the type of PL player howe wants, i hope we don't piss about all summer with lowball offers, like we did with guehi last year, and move on to more affordable/realistic targets.
-
It might, just might, suggest we’re targeting attacking players in this window
-
We were linked with an Italian CB last week. Sounds like Guehi might be heading to Liverpool.
