I don't understand how Anita gets praise from sections of our support. He's the most one dimensional, boring and largely anonymous players we have. I'm not saying Colback is better, but can't say I passionately believe one should be picked ahead of the other. It'd be a bit harsh to drop Colback before he goes on international duty as well, he'll be looking to impress today and hopefully full of confidence. He's probably the right selection.

Even as a toon fan, if I was given the choice now I'd go to Chelsea before I played for Pardew and Mike. That's how bad it is now

You're mistaking them with us. They've missed out narrowly so will want to strengthen to ensure that they're definitely there next year. We narrowly missed out then only bought Anita.

But they'd get to the group stages AS WELL as those teams, and potentially INSTEAD of a bigger, better supported club. Of course UEFA will care, it's their benchmark competition, for the cream of the crop.

A 38 game season is still much more effectively going to separate the top teams from the dross over a knockout cup competition. I agree with you, I'd like to see it too. I'm looking at it from UEFA's perspective and suggesting why they wouldn't let it happen.

They wouldn't be there instead of a Celtic-quality club though would they. They'd be a drop in quality from an Arsenal or a Chelsea, and for the competition to continue to be the huge money spinner that it is UEFA want more 'elite' clubs in and less dross.

"All TV money to be distributed evenly" would benefit the majority in a vote too. Why isn't this happening? Why aren't the majority voting for things to bridge the gap between the top clubs.
