Very productive day! House cleaned from top to bottom, lovely meal out with the bairn and his daddy and only 5 shifts to go til a week in the sun which has been 5 years in the making.

Thanks for putting this up for me, Ant. This is Ria almost a year after her life-changing surgery which many of you contributed to. She's walking with no sticks, no frame and no wheelchair... This was unthinkable 2 years ago. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for changing the life of my beautiful, selfless friend's daughter xx

I do know what exploratory surgery could mean, doctor I was more laughing at the 'experts' on breakfast tv this morning. "yerrrrs they're probably going to pop a little camera in his tummy and then he'll be in for a fortnight.." Ah, if only all 92 year-olds were afforded such a luxury

Prince Philip in hospital for a routine investigative operation today. Speculated to be either a laparoscopy or colonoscopy etc. He's expected to be in hospital for 2 WEEKS!! At our place he'd be home in time for Coronation Street tonight

Other than the trip to Aachen, we had an earthquake. The quote of the week was from my drunk friend with her head down the bog spewing after too much cider.... "Is it just me or is the room moving......" Just found this... On 13 April 1992 at 3:20 am, a 5.3 Mw[13] quake with its epicentre 4 km southwest of Roermond, Netherlands, and its hypocentre 18 km deep shook the border region for 15 seconds.[14] 30 people were injured in North Rhine-Westphalia alone, mostly by falling roof tiles and chimneys,[15] and there was considerable damage to buildings. Ground shifts of up to 2 m occurred, and sand fountains in a few locations.[16][17][18] The quake was felt as far away as Milan and London. The worst damage in Germany was in Heinsberg;[10] in the Netherlands the area of damage extended several kilometres northwest of Roermond. Total damage costs in Germany topped 150 million DM, in the Netherlands, 170 million guilders.[14][15] Aftershocks continued until 31 May. Some of our bunk beds in the Sportel de Dousberg were knocked over. That's the most dramatic thing that's happened there ever.

My mistake - you're absolutely correct - It's definitely in Holland. Maybe it's just so fucking dull that it ought to be in Belgium! You know it's dull when the highlight of the week is a bus trip to Aachen in Germany.......
-
I spent 10 days in Maastrict when I was 16. It was..........................dull.

I've managed to 100% convince my son that Batman lives in the next street to us...

My uncle drove his motorbike from South Shields to my auntie's house in Southern Spain a few weeks ago. He loved every minute of it despite some hair-raising moments

3 weeks today......

My God, it's amazing how much happier I am when it's sunny. Went out first thing this morning and bought a couple of sun loungers, spent the rest of the day gardening and am now sat out on said sun lounger while the bairn is crashed out on the settee. Maybe I shouldn't have made him mow both lawns...,,

Any lads on here organise footy and need an extra player?
catmag replied to ajax_andy's topic in General Chat
Besty is often looking for players at fairly short notice on Facebook. Around Gateshead iirc. -
Anyone seen Chris Ramsay's stand-up. Off to see him next Saturday.
-
I nearly cropped that pic cos I knew some cocky get would point out the monkey
-
The bairn took a photo of the dragon the other day. This is it... He's watching telly.
-
Anyone have these when they were bairns? We've currently got a black dragon, Super Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog and Iron Man living with us at the moment. The dragon sleeps in the bath, obviously, but I had to make juice for him the other day and leave it on the windowsill in case he got thirsty in the night...

Paying the price for a sneaky afternoon nap yesterday. Been up since 4.55am on the one day I could've had a lie-in. Might go and do some huffy shopping...

Aha, I shall bother you for lives sometime soon...
