Nothing, it's fine and dandy The MP3 player is going to be a pressie for my dad. Yes, he's technologically inept and I will have to put all of the music onto it for him, but thought it would be nice for him to take on holiday.

Don't need anything that fancy or expensive, and definitely want a radio on it.

Thanks for your help guys. I've got a much better idea about what I'm looking for

I have had that done to me. Luckily I knew the bloke who did it, so he escaped being beaten to a pulp woman I could touch your boobs from the other side of the bar! Not without me beating the shit out of you, you couldn't I reckon I'd beat you in a standing start, you'd give up long before you caught up to be fair. I'd stealth grope tttt You'd die and you know it.

Just wondered if anyone can recommend a half decent MP3 player (not iPod) It doesn't need to have massive storage, just enough for maybe 20-30 albums, with MW/FM radio on it, and not madly expensive. I know I'm being lazy and should just browse through the usual Currys/Dixons websites etc but was hoping someone could give me a personal recommendation. Thank yoooo!

shoot me on the spot - anything than spend time in the hands of health care professionals in a disease ridden hospital................... I have it in writing now!! Whoa but wait a second Cath.. how bad do we want to make things for dear old Rob? If he's unconscious there's always the matter of implied consent. He could be stuck full of tubes and catheters before he woke up. This is true. I could always intubate him without any muscle relaxant He would need a 14G cannula aswell of course... One in the back of each hand, naturally. Although it would be more fun to put them in if he was awake. Yeah, that's true. I could always have some Propofol handy around here in case he gets a liitle bit too tiresome. It would only work for 5 minutes or so but it would give us a break This is getting rather geeky but some sux would be good for a giggle...race ya! Watch out for those fesciculations!! [/medical clique-tastic!]

Cath, cath these are the things everyone else in the outside world has to deal with day in, day out budgets, targets, impossible bosses - I'll bet everyone else on here has the same problems we just don't go on about it Most people on here have at some point had a whinge about their job! I'm not exclusive! Exquisite perhaps, but not exclusive

Nope, just Scott being his usual cheerful self..

Although it would give Sammy the chance to use the obituary he wrote for him years ago...

Surely people of his age have an automatic DNR order? Hmm, you have a point. Unfotunately I'd have to see the signed document before I left him where he was...
-
Where is he? I miss him. It's like watching the muppets without Fozzie Bear being in it

We're also accountable to the public 24/7 aswell, even when we're off duty. So should I ever find Rob collapsed in the street, I have a professional duty to do something about it. Now therein lies a dilemma....

Rob, you're becoming tiresome and I can't be arsed to argue with you any more. May I respectfully suggest that as someone who has never worked within the health service, you haven't actually got the first clue about what it's like to do so. You don't know about the internal and external politics, the management and budget systems, the pressure of meeting government-set targets with limited resources, the feeling of being undervalued, the lack of support for staff from management and the true extent of the physical and emotional work involved in it. Am I whining again? Tough shit. It's a reality that we face every single day and we still manage to care for patients to the very best of our ability and with a smile on our faces.
