My brain is definitely the problem. I can do Zumba for an hour, or swim for an hour without a problem but my head tells me that I can't run.
-
The app that we've been talking about for the last 3 pages has it all timed out Oh, and I genuinely can't run for 3 minutes!

My Zumba sports bra has more support than Newcastle in a cup (cup, geddit?!) final.

Okay, I detest running. In fact there aren't words to describe just how much I hate it. I was forced to do cross country at school despite being asthmatic and near-death by the end of it and it's absolutely scarred me ever since. I can swim like a fish (I've swam 5k before) and yet I always wished I could run and be enthusiastic about it but I've never even tried due to the aforementioned childhood trauma and extreme self-consciousness. However. I'm going to bite the bullet and start this tomorrow, Apologies in advance because if by some miracle I'm running 5k in 8 weeks you will not hear the end of it (and I'm tempted to say that I'll show my arse in Fenwicks window but I'm NOT going to do that to the people of Newcastle) So let's see. This is from someone who would literally (and has) let a bus pull away from a stop without me rather than run for it.

Btw Tooj, if you're planning another football adventure? midds is now free for the first 2 weeks of April

Booked. Head battered but happy. Bed.

Oh no, no, no. I'm not in this for a few days break - I'm getting the fuck out of here for a fortnight! Haven't had 2 weeks away in 6 years and I was pregnant at the time so couldn't even have a drink.

Ah okay, thanks for the info. Must admit that after a month in SA seeing wild animals in their truly natural state, it did make the concept of 'the zoo' etc more distasteful to me. It didn't stop me taking the bairn to Edinburgh zoo mind as he loves animals and it was an opportunity to actually see them rather than watch them on a screen or in a book. We'll see what happens - I'm Skype'ing with Tampa tonight so I'll see what their take on it is. Oh and there's no downer on my day And I hereby promise to post a pic of us in our Mickey Mouse ears about 10 months from now. Wouldn't care but Disney never appealed to me at all and the bairn didn't seem that bothered either, but I caught him watching an advert for Disneyland Paris the other day with this weird, magical look on his face. Then he said "Whoa mammy, that looks like the best place in the whole world "So I'd just be a bad mother if I didn't give him the opportunity to find out...

I'm obviously showing my ignorance as I don't actually know what's established now! I think my ideas of it are based on knowledge from years ago. And Ant - yes you get fined and it's a criminal offence to take your kids out of school for a holiday. http://m.bbc.co.uk/news/education-26517395

Probably if it was for just a week but I'm not comfortable taking him out of school for 2 weeks. And I'd love to go to Sea World personally. The beauty of staying with friends there is that they go to all the Disney parks often and know it inside out.

It's at the start of the school holidays so the price doesn't drop significantly at all. Aaaaand we'll be travelling on a Thursday, but don't tell school But thank you!

I'm not one to be too spontaneous or reckless normally in life except when it comes to travelling adventures (remember South Africa?) Have messaged Tampa and they said yes, they did mean it. Have spoken to Mr M and he's happy for me to take the child out of the country without worrying that I might not bring him back. Just need to speak to my parents regarding some finance issues and I'll book it tonight - I promise. I'm quite giddy
-
Sooo an old friend from Manchester just casually mentioned the other day that the bairn and I should "head over" whenever we wanted. They now live in Tampa Bay, have triplet boys the same age as the bairn, live an hour from Disneyland and have 2 visitors arriving next April. Well, they will once I pluck up the courage to press 'buy' on the extortionately priced Easter school holiday flights. Carpe Diem

Holland doesn't seem nearly so bad after last night

2 buses and 1 car crashed apparently. Only 6 admitted and 50 others triaged at the scene - could have been faaaaar worse.

Anybody got any info on major crash on central motorway? I've been called into work..

You look like your head is on upside down

We've got that Optimus. It now lives at daddy's house. Give me Lego over Transformers any day! And happy birthday Sam
-
Lucky duck. I'd love a holiday to look forward to. Have booked a random week off during the bairns holiday in August but it'll take a lottery win or a distant relative bequeathing an inheritance for us to get away.

That is simply brilliant

Ade Edmondson's statement... The actor said in a statement: There were times when Rik and I were writing together when we almost died laughing. They were some of the most carefree stupid days I ever had, and I feel privileged to have shared them with him. And now hes died for real. Without me. Selfish bastard!"

BBC reporting his agent has confirmed his death but not the cause and will issue a further statement later
