3pm midweek kick-offs for fucks sake. We're not all doleites & students you know. -
How does that prove your point? Didn't you say there would be a rule change, and Alonso is advocating not changing the rules there.

How many times did Savage say "when I was here under Sparky..."? I was starting to think it was some sort of challenge for Sports Relief.

Mike Ashley --- As Good As It Gets

And it continued its slide into the Championship under his running. ...and thankfully we are going back up. So what is your point?? Another example of your long-term damage CT; reducing expectations to such a degree that relegation is passed off as just one of those things, so long as we get back up again. -

I don't think even CT would claim he hasn't done anything wrong. -

So, in your opinion, was the best course of action to stop trying to compete and settle for an austerity era which included plucking a joke of a manager, who hadn't been heard of for literally years since a heart attack, and ended up in relegation? -

Watched The Departed last night, don't know how I missed it the first time round. Excellent film, superb cast. -

Newcastle look to spain for two new players!

At a lower level, with a squad that is the class of the division. A squad that is also physically strong enough to bully some sides into submission; that won't happen in the prem. Do his substitutions and tactical errors not worry you? Do you not think they will be punished more clinically in the PL? -

If ashley wanted to sign players on the basis of them being sold 'the dream' he couldn't have had a better man to do it than Kevin Keegan. But he fucked that up as well didn't he? -

Is that the sum of your ambition? Would you consider 17th a good season? We were miles ahead of Villa and Spurs not so long ago, but now we should be satisfied with their cast offs? Get fucking real ffs Most fans would take survival in our first year back. Ofcourse its not the sum of my ambition but you sound like one of those deluded fans on talk sport (who'll will be on the radio throughout the summer) saying how we are going to take the league by storm. Survival next year is all that matters. You couldn't be more wrong. I'm dreading a PL season under ashley, we'll get regular batterings without 5-7 new first team players. So you'll take 17th as well I'd expect it but I wouldn't be satisfied with it. -

Don't forget Dr Ken... there's no 'long term' damage.... Precisely. CT, do you believe that we'll even be able to compete with the likes of Everton, Birmingham and Fulham for good players signatures, never mind Villa & Spurs. yes Based on what? Players have all sorts of reasons for joing clubs. Spanish stars may want to come and play with Enrique, he's constantly gushing about how good it is. Chris Hughton carries a lot of respect with players and they will have seen / heard how good the camp is up here. Some will just want the challenge of playing infront of 45,000 fans And sum will be sold the dream that we are a club going places. Players (or their agents) are only bothered about the coin. You can't put atmosphere, or morale, or a dream in the bank. Are you (conveniently) forgetting how desperate Hughton was in the PL last year? -

They've said sorry.... get over it. Didnt Shepherd call Newcastle women dogs and laugh at the fans because he could rip them off with £5 tat shirts and then slag off Shearer???? When? And even if they did a snivelling, mealy-mouthed, insincere apology hardly makes up for the long-term damage they've done to NUFC. Dodgy, untrustworthy, classless liars who've made a packet selling sweatshop-made polyester tat to chavs, with no connection to the area? No thanks. Long term damage has yet to be proved and could infact be quite the opposite. So you will only settle for Geordie owners? So getting relegated is good for a club? That'll be a comfort to Hull and Portsmouth fans. Given the choice, I'd rather have owners who had an emotional connection to the club. You said long term damage. I dont yet see any long term damage. Infact a lot would say getting back up leaner and meaner is a blessing. But please tell me what the long term damage is? I am trying to understand some of the doom mongers, honest. Are you naive enough to assume that if we're back in the Premiership next season, it'll be just as it was at the start of the 08/09 season and it'll be like the period September 2008 - May 2009 never happened? Christ almighty... I simply just asked what the long term damage will be. Fucking simple question really Lost millions, gone from being a club that played in europe something like 13 seasons out of 16 to one that should be "satisfied" with 17th, one that sold out every home game to one with 10000 empty seats sometimes. The long term damage is that we've gone from being regularly top 6-8 and attracting top, top players to one that is a million miles away from that. Fucking simple answer really -
