  1. Good riddance is right but once again it just shows how incompetent this club is, can't even get a simple sale concluded without some mystery. I'm reminded of the ridiculous Lucas Neill business last January.
  2. Sad but true. I'm sure we'll hear that in not too long. Getting Joey Barton the decent footballer from 3+ years ago would be like signing a new player. Getting Joey Barton the player we've seen in spits and spats since he signed for us more than 2 and a half years ago is not like signing a new player. Christ it's hard to believe that he's been here that long, surely even Owen was available for us more than Barton? I think Happy Face did the numbers, and yeah, Owen had a better rate of appearance for us.
  3. This is what I'm most afraid of. Hopefully we could at least get them to overpay but considering our track record with City, well...
  4. Probably Nolan as well, bottom three PL clubs would gladly take a punt on him at this point I'd think. Maybe even that Bolton return that was discussed earlier in the season. Colo might go as well. Pretty much anyone who was in our first team in the PL.
  5. i agree but will fatty pay the money? we have the players to win this league and do well in the prem we have better players than Wigan,Fulham,Birmingham,West ham,Hull,Pompey etc we have just got to get them playing to there best and i think we will do...........look to the future I don't agree. I think if we want to just stay up he will have to replace getting on for half the team he has sold, names mentioned earlier. Plus a quality striker. we have better strikers than the teams i just listed Do we fuck.
  6. Get rid as soon as possible. He's no good, hasn't been since Man City, belongs and has always belonged firmly in the "debit" column of this club. People saying "our best passer of the ball" must've forgotten what it is to watch him. Not hard considering his rate of appearance is worse than the much-derided Owen's.
  7. Just like after the 2006 WC, here's Joey to run his mouth about other people again when he's done fuck all since leaving Man City.
  8. Fair play to Harewood for getting on with the job after getting stick from the fans. Still not someone I want to sign permanently but it speaks well of his character that he wants to come back. Beckford, still haven't seen him play. He's in the goals in League One, and supposedly has some pace which our strikers lack, and at 1.5 mil wouldn't exactly be a lot of money to blow on a gamble. We could do worse.
  9. When you think of players in terms of "they had good games for us" rather than "they were good players for us" that says it all. And all I can remember of Emre is the goal against the Mackems, one goal against Reading that won us the game 3-2 I think, and getting sent off against Stoke on KK's return. Utter waster like most players of the Souness era and I wouldn't have him back if they were paying us to take him. Essentially he was the Turkish Luque.
  10. Disappointing and Lovenkrands/Pancrate accomplished absolutely nothing between the two of them, so we'd have been better off leaving Jonas and Harewood on. Ultimately it looked like they wanted it more and they deserved it. Nevertheless, this is hardly a 'bad' result.
  11. That was truly disgraceful. This ref wants shooting with shit, terrible for both goals.
  12. The last one was gash. The previous wasn't too terrible. Can we not just go back to something simple and classic like the 2005-2006 kit?
  13. I can't think of a better manager City could've realistically gotten than Hiddink, and I think he would've taken them to the CL if given a January to spend. I doubt Mancini will. If we were still in the PL and in a position to buy players, I'd have a look at some of City's lesser lights who will probably find themselves out on the cheap when the latest wave of oil bucks hits the January market. Bugger-me and Roque Santa Cruz will probably be shifted at the very least.
  14. We weren't fantastic but then we didn't have to be. Lita was especially terrible. Great defensive performance across the back four though. I would've liked to see their star Johnson in action. 12 points clear by Christmas?
  15. Fantastic cross and Shola is at it again! Bye bye you smog bastards, how long until your next manager?
  16. Someone really needs to put Butt down. It's for his own good.
  17. We've not been great, but we're winning, which is what matters. And barring a slip on snowy ground or something similar, I can't see them scoring.
  18. What noises might those be, you dullard? We will look a lot more mortal once our best players are sold. We'll still go up, but talking about 106 point targets is idiocy.
  19. Did look a bit of a push from wor Shola there but as far as I'm concerned officials everywhere have a lot of ground to make up with us after disallowing the perfectly legal Viduka goal v. Fulham that would've kept us up last season.
  20. Really been loving your posts lately, Dr Ken. Can't quite put my finger on what it is... On topic: I'd love to see Man U crash and burn as always but it won't happen at this stage, Milan may be making up ground domestically but they're still at low tide. I think Chelsea will beat Inter, probably by virtue of a solitary goal in 180+ minutes of football. It may be the most somniferous tie of football ever played.
  21. Aye. We should enjoy him while it lasts...about, oh, another two weeks or so.
  22. I wish they would just stick to weekend kickoffs, even when not televised. I know there's a lot of midweek fixtures in the CCC and there's no avoiding it, so I'd always have to miss those ones, but to move a perfectly good saturday or sunday game to a monday or friday and televise it does me no good, working 9-5 EST (so 2-10 Newcastle time) as I do. There's no anticipation. It just becomes a score to check when I get back from work instead of something to look forward to (even when it is just on the radio.)
  23. He would score a hatful in this league. That's the only part of that "article" that resembles the truth. They didn't even get Harewood's club straight.
  24. GET IN! Have to say I thought that was a clown move but Chris is proven right
