Aye I think it's a good signing. We're probably looking at £20m to make it permanent next season, but we'll know by then how he looks playing for us.
-
Klopp and Liverpool's very successful recruitment team will have looked at him over an extended period and obviously concluded otherwise. It hasn't worked out for him there, but there must be a player in there.
-
Right lads. Something Keith Downie keeps mentioning. If it came down to it, would we do a deal where Nunez ends up here and Isak goes there. He looked class before he went there, and I'm sure Eddie could do something with him. But it would definitely be a significant downgrade. What say you?
-
Aye I'm probably just trying to be more hopeful than I should. At the end of the day, even if it works out the way I hope, we still end up with a lad that's not thrilled to be here.
-
The only thing with the Sesko situation is that if Man United are set on signing a striker this window, if they can't get into a position where they can afford him then at some point they have to pivot to a different option. And it has to be in enough time to sign that option. So I do wonder if they don't have to give up on Sesko a bit sooner than we're currently thinking.
-
I properly hate him now like. Now that I know that he's not even training or even remotely behaving like he's still picking up a wage from the club. I really hope we can get proper replacements in so that he can be fucked off this window.
-
If he plays, the one player who will be feeling closest to what we all are about his behaviour is Dan Burn, and I hope he snaps him in half.
-
Absolutely stinks that we're all clamouring for these players that don't want to be here, and finally one turns up that does and everyone turns their nose up at him. I hope he hasn't taken in too much of the social media shit over the last few days.
-
Downie says he checked on Monday and Isak hadn't been at the training ground for days, and hasn't been there since Monday. I'd be amazed if he's still in the country so the above makes sense.
-
Aye, I like this interpretation. I think the very Man United friendly media will be putting in a double shift on their behalf over the coming days and weeks (if it drags on this long) to try and get their man though.
-
They must have just twisted it back to point in the right direction again.
-
Btw, this smells once again like Ornstein doing the work of Man United and basically telling the player to hold on for the big team.
-
Unless the player and his agent have expressly told us that it's Man United he wants, we should stick down £75m now. I think the recruitment team are scared to have another Ekitike situation play out cos it looks so shit reputationally.
-
Are they tweeting from the tunnel? Cos otherwise all they've seen is what's on the telly and it didn't look like that at all. If it was pointing in the wrong direction, I doubt Howe is gonna go "Nah it looks fine".
-
As PB says, the "if striker signed this summer" bit is interesting. They haven't got the money for this lad, but if they can shift on some of their shit then they'd like Sesko. I think we end up with this one being held up by Man United's attempt to sell their players until late in the window. In the meantime, work on a Wissa or Muniz, and we either end up with Sesko or Isak. Or if Liverpool completely take the piss when we finally let them bid on Isak, maybe we end up with Sesko and Isak for a season.
-
Randoms on twitter then?
-
I mean it's got to be Howe's list. Howe wouldn't be trying to buy Mitchell's list after he's left.
-
That's fine, we'll keep Isak.
-
I'd guess their agent just talks to the buying club, tells them what their player wants, and then tells all these rats on Twitter like Romano to get that out there in the public domain.
-
Alleged by whom? Howay lads if you're gonna post this stuff, we need an idea of where it's coming from. Twenty minutes ago Howe was saying it didn't look like a major injury.
-
Howe's mantra in every window has been that the players have to be of the right standard, and if they aren't available you don't just get anyone. We're not gonna start dropping down to players that can't do the job. I think if Sesko falls through then Isak is made to stay and we get one of Muniz or Wissa as second striker. Mind, I don't know how this helps us next summer cos we still can't sign any cunt it seems. Maybe back to Chelsea to talk to whichever of their ten forwards isn't getting a sniff of a game.
-
Fuck sake. Right, make him unaffordable for them or just walk away now and tell Isak to get his fucking boots back on.
-
Hope isn't saying we've given Isak permission to speak to Liverpool as far as I can see.
-
Aye, Muniz is an alternative to Wissa. He's not the alternative to Isak.
-
Sorry I don't believe that we're gonna let Isak go and bring in players that aren't of the required standard. I think we'll just tell Isak he can't leave because we can't currently replace him with who we want to.
