  1. We specifically are in this mess because of the enormous fucking hole that Brexit has kicked in our economy.
  2. There's plenty businesses not even paying their employees a living wage, and now they're all moaning about the minimum wage and employer NI going up. And talking about how they'll have to freeze worker pay or fire people. There'll be honest, small business owners affected negatively by this, and that's genuinely a shame, but there'll also be plenty thriving businesses that can afford to make a bit less profit to pay the people that are making them a thriving business fairly. The money to sort the mess that the country has become has to come from somewhere. Of course if we could have an honest conversation about why we're in this fucking mess, that would also be nice, but of course we can't. Yet. Maybe ever.
  3. I think the budget looks decent. We've been crying out for big tax increases, and we've now got them. Let's see what they can do with it.
  4. I think the term you're looking for is "know-it-all cunt". 😎
  5. Bank has 6,000 employees. Civil Service has however many thousand employees. The same applies in every industry. People get trained on responding to phishing emails, and the businesses invest in systems that have safeguards. It's not like legal firms aren't on email either. Or don't have electronic copies of confidential information. I guarantee this is about an unwillingness to invest in infrastructure, and an ability to dictate the terms on which they do business, much more than it is about security. Given how few people own a fax these days, and the fact the technology is going to be phased out, they must be doing lots of interaction by email anyway.
  6. Finished Sweetpea, which was canny. Gonna give Before a go. New horror series with, of all people, Billy Crystal.
  7. How Music Got Free was a canny watch. Two part doc about the rise of file sharing and how the factory workers in this tiny town in North Caroline were responsible for leaking loads of big albums before they were due for launch. The factory workers are the star of the show. The record bosses are stereotypical fat cunts.
  8. It's cos they're stuck in the dark ages. Law firms still insist on doing everything by letter, they'll send and ask for cheques too. They just don't want to spend any money on encryption/decryption software. Business, government, everything runs on encrypted email now.
  9. Andy Burnham talking to someone from Northern Rail. Incredible.
  10. You been googling "wanking a baby's leg" again?

I permanently output in excess of 3GW of sexual energy, but I don't know if there's any way of converting that into something that can be used to power the grid.
  14. Old people kissing. So gross.
  15. That's the audition queue for The Full Monty.
  16. You're a Sopologist. A Maitlickspittle. And now a Scaramexcuser. You sir, have NO bottom.
  17. Trump was saying heinous shit and Scaramucci signed up for it. He got fired after 11 days, he didn't choose to leave.
  18. That sounded RIDICULOUS in the Gerry Adams voice I use to read all your posts.
  19. Official Tampon supplier? Are you and aimaad hoping for a big delivery?
  20. I hear whining. I don't hear any ideas. And it's a Focus, bitch.
  21. Ah sorry, I was referring to Stuart Stevens who is in that Vanity Fair article. Scaramucci is just a charismatic chancer. He was happy to serve in Trump's administration when he was building a wall, banning Muslims and all the rest of it. I think he's probably not a great person.
  22. Man City took the PL to court cos they had a sponsorship deal refused due to the new rules. We acted as witness on their behalf. We don't have to come up with our own separate legal challenge. And we aren't able to use PIF's muscle to our benefit because it's muscle is entirely financial and they've brought rules in specifically to prevent a situation where a PIF comes along and uses its financial muscle. We're all frustrated, but blaming the club because they haven't taken the PL to court, or haven't found a hotel to sell (instead of squad players), is "daddy I want an oompah loompah!" territory. The rules need to change. And Man City's victory will hopefully be the start of that. But if the rules don't change, we're going to go on being frustrated in the short term at the very least.
