I don't know why they didn't bring someone in on a consultancy basis through the summer to handle negotiations, if we're short staffed after Mitchell left. If I was Eales, that would have been my first thought. There must be loads of people knocking about with relevant experience who wouldn't have minded £200k or something for a summer of work.
