  1. Talking an excellent game. Although Leazes won't be pleased to hear that he's making "plans".
  2. Can't be that bad, you don't do anything but post on here. Aye but I wouldn't if I had anything remotely interesting to do work-wise.
  3. 1 year in my current job. And it's shite.
  4. So it was a lie that you owned your own company? I'm not surprised, I always pictured you as a 50 something gentleman who helps out on £5.35 an hour, in a small carpet company. Stevie taking a break from charm school to post this.
  5. Read his response to Baggio's decent post about Spurs and their "Planning" here man. I just give up with Leazes tbh. Leazes spouting off He's happy with things as they are because we're better than we were when he was a bairn, and that's that.
  6. I said as much. Mind, in all honesty, I don't know how the fuck we have so many wins considering some of the crap football we have played. Maybe it's more evidence that outside the top 4 the premiership isn't much cop at the minute? Well, we had an excellent run when he took over too. It's partially down to the factor you give, partly down to his honeymoon period and, in fairness, a lot of it is down to Roeder himself sorting things out and improving team spirit and morale imo. The best since Keegan IMO. Definite cockney solidarity. The team spirit under Robson when it didn't matter if we went a goal behind cos you just knew we would come back from it was better than anything Roeder has achieved tbh.
  7. That performance was in tribute to Graeme. I felt his spirit at the ground that day.
  8. True. His son would have been a multi-millionaire by now.
  9. See the Maccarone quotes about McClaren this morning? Slated. Allardyce might have done a good job but he didnt want to leave Bolton. For the England job? Allardyce was desperate for it man. Or are you talking about to come to us?
  10. Last three seasons our football has been dreadful for the most part - I'm surprised if we put in a half decent performance these days. We're certainly in no position to look down on Bolton.
  11. Adam mate, you've done this before (comparing the management and strategic planning in your company to that at NUFC) and I can't help but feel it's a sackable offence. The you've missed the point, not even we have it down to a precise science. We've been 'planning' this deal for 12 months and its about to go tits up. I don't think I have missed the point tbh. Newcastle haven't operated with a plan for a long time. That's my point. And I'm not sure we had much of a one for this last window. Certainly nothing realistic if this list of Roeder's is actually true. Of course plans can go wrong and not work out, but I think you're crediting NUFC with a bit too much intelligence.
  12. Looks like something 2J would post in the What Have You Bought thread.
  13. This is the sort of chat that, when Roeder was first appointed, really impressed me. But now, knowing what he's actually like, it just sounds like cobblers.
  14. To be fair to Roeder, he's talking a good game, and for once he's making sense. Let's see how we do in the summer window though. Two in a row now he's fucked up, and I personally don't see it getting any better in the summer. And I'm sorry but it's because of his failings in the summer window that we're now effectively having to write yet another season off as transitional. Whether next season is another transitional write-off will depend how daft lad does between June and August of this year. I'm not holding out much hope.
  15. It's almost as if he's taking the piss out of Shepherd.
  16. Can't believe they've gone to the trouble of checking whether our current injury list is the worst in Premiership history. RECORD BREAKERS!!11
  17. Adam mate, you've done this before (comparing the management and strategic planning in your company to that at NUFC) and I can't help but feel it's a sackable offence. But you can apply economic planning to football management. One of the main areas of Economic study is the control predicament. The scarcity and choice conundrum. The idea being there is finite resources with a number of entities wanting choice. by taking this into consideration if you know you have a short time in which to exercise the end move of a deal you should begin the deal as soon as possible. As has already been pointed out the Transfer window is for the conclusion of deals between clubs. Clubs can contact each other at any time about the possibility of a players availability. Scouts can go to games at any time to watch players. A well run club should have had for the 2 months prior to the window opening scouts at games and been in contact with clubs who have players of a high enough calibre in positions needed to instigate negotiations. By waiting to start anything until the window opens. Or in the case of our summer campaign six weeks after it opens. We shoot ourselves in the foot and reduce our operational ability. Yeah I know all of that. I'm not saying that we shouldn't be doing that. I'm saying that comparing strategic plans at big successful companies to those at NUFC is like comparing apples and oranges.
  18. You wanted answers to those questions? They look rhetorical to me. All part of the Rob Knows Best Show.
  19. Once again, Rob pontificating about something he knows fuck all about. He's like a Harry Enfield character.
  20. Adam mate, you've done this before (comparing the management and strategic planning in your company to that at NUFC) and I can't help but feel it's a sackable offence.
  21. Do ginger beards double up as medical qualifications in Australia or what?
  22. Leazes response to Baggio's post earlier on in this thread is just incredible. Baggio sets out how Spurs have tried to put things right over the last 3 years and the signs that they are going in the right direction. Leazes response? "Ask Spurs fans if they'd swap their last decade for ours". The fact that Spurs are putting in the foundations for a far better future than us sails straight over his head. It's all about the past and being slightly better than we used to be with Leazes. Qualify for the UEFA Cup and sign an England international and you keep him happy. This won't be regarded as an insult to Leazes, but he genuinely is Freddy Shepherd's ideal Newcastle fan. He thinks like Shepherd and like Shepherd he thinks that we should all be content with how things are going at the minute. It's pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.
