"....did I mention that no one commands more respect in the changing rooms than first choice right back Stephen Carr?"
-
Yes. It's ridiculous. We should be going for Rooney or Pele. ROEDER OUT!!! I'll take that as acceptance of the fact that your cockney chum is planning yet another fuck up. Here we are all hoping he's identified transfer targets for the summer, and all the while he's got his eye on Antoine Sibierski for a two year contract extension. Fast forward to September 1st 2007: "Whilst it may be disappointing to the fans that we have had trouble bringing in another striker, I feel that in Antoine Sibierski we have a player that can deputise well in that position. The addition this morning of the clubless Christian Dailly to the back four brings some much-needed experience in that area. For the third transfer window in a row I can honestly say that I am happy with the current squad of players."

I wouldn't even give him another year tbh. He's nowhere near good enough and although he'll come in and graft and that, I'll be pretty disappointed if we start next season with Sibierski even on the bench. Imagine how much slower he'll be in a year or two's time too. Does he even graft that much? Aye there has been occasions hes came back into our own half and stuck a foot in however for me he hits the floor with the slightest knock all to often. He'll chase the ball and put them under pressure, but you're right, there's not much coming in in the way of concrete challenges. He's as soft as clarts as well. When he first came in and was doing well and scoring, it was never anything more than a purple patch. He looks now like the player I thought we'd signed when that fateful text arrived (i.e. not good enough). Why a manager would offer a contract extension to a player that clearly is not good enough is beyond me.

Looking forward to Patrokles and AF defending this one later. "Mr. Sibierski is a fine man and a great player. He is not the 'wrong side of 30' and Mr. Roeder is making an excellent decision in extending his contract until he is 35, allowing him to finish his career at NUFC."

I'll have to watch when I get home - no youtube at work. Remind me though!

Not forgetting I must break you. and the classic Whatever he hits, he destroys.

"If I can change......and yous can change....."

Fuck off man, Rocky II is the best. IV is when it descended into a comic (it was well on its way to that in III though).
-
The bloke isn't good enough and should be released when his contract expires in the summer. We have been ridiculously lucky that he's scored a few goals and proved himself to be a decent stop-gap, but that should be the finish. Keeping him on for one year would be a mistake, keeping him on for two ridiculous.
-
If he carries on playing like he is between now and the end of the season, one of the big boys will come in for him, and he'll be away. Why would he resign himself to playing for Boro? If he was the sort of lad who was desperate to play for his hometown club above all others, then he would just say that now and remove any doubt - why would you keep the fans and the club waiting if you were desperate to stay? He's hedging his bets because he's hoping for better offers.
-
Watched Rocky again at the weekend. I had forgotten how slow it was to get going. Still class like.
-
We are under no obligation on this board to cater for the fact that you still haven't even had The Empire Strikes Back in Australia yet. If you are slow, that's your problem.

Stevie's on the drink again.
-
Ditto. My mate got his the day before we went on holiday. He looked like the elephant man and couldn't drink. He had a class time Couldn't believe it when I went round his house like. He'd said his face was a bit swollen, but when he opened the door he was fucking grotesque - like something off a horror. I nearly pissed meself.
-
My mate had one once and one side of his face swelled up like you wouldn't fucking believe. Looked like he was hiding a basketball in his cheek. So Super_Steve_Howey....are you Jay Jay Sea on NO?
-
Someone asked this not long ago I think. Gargling with salt water was one option iirc.
-
AF LOVES it when Roeder does something not-shit.

I imagine you listen to piano (pronounced piarrrrno) music from the 20s, you luxury-tea-drinking hom!

Dunno about that, James is the most talented English keeper of his generation, the only issue being his big game temperament. Robinson looks pretty average and has for a while imo. Is talent the same as shite now then? Being able to pull off amazing saves while at the same time being unable to deal with crosses of any kind or organise a defence or distribute the ball properly. Don't make him talented. Do you see much of James play? Seriously, you sound clueless. Whites > Blacks

What were you talking about then? If it's all just busy-bodies who complain about this sort of thing then how come these players did complain? Also, in the same way, would you say 'paki' in front of an Asian person, seen as by your reckoning they aren't the ones offended by it (which I know for a fact is bollocks). Thats tottally not what i was saying.... Your just putting words in my mouth or post even It's EXACTLY what you were fucking saying. Either that or you can't write down what you mean in words that anyone other than you can understand! Is it fuck. Ok here goes... There you fucking go, want a daily mail with that? Haha, you've made fuck all sense all the way through the thread, don't seem to know what your own stance is on all of this, get offended when people supposedly misinterpret what you have to say, then sound more confused than ever before when you try to explain yourself.

No, but Emre's "calling people black and negro is fine in Turkey" defence suggests to me that he's said something he shouldn't have and this is the best they can come up with in defence. Which is pretty weak.
-
You don't seem to have a clue what you or anybody else is talking about ffs.

The point is whether or not the comments were racist. Well IMHO calling someone a Negro out of anger is racist. It is a comment meant to hurt. It's not nigger, though, which has definite negative connotation. It'd be the difference between Pakistani and Paki, I guess. So where is Negro then. I know calling someone a Pakistani is saying where they come from. How does that equate to Negro? Negro essentially means the same as black. It's in no way derogatory. Paki means someone from pakistan so I am assuming you dont think that is racist either? Negro is neither Turkish nor English for black so why use it. It was a stattement based on someones race intended to cause emotional distress. Can you prove that? Besides, calling a Scottish person a Scot isn't racist so how is calling some from Pakistan a Paki? Just an excuse for people to whinge or get sympathy imo. What about calling a Welsh person Taff? Or and Irishman Paddy? I don't these folks getting a stress on about it. The problem is all the lefty do-gooders that jump on the bandwagon to say "Oh you can't say that about this person it'll offend them" when the actual people involved don't give a sh*t. The leftys just wind people up and cause the conflict. Are you serious? It's just the lefties winding people up? If Emre has called someone a black whatever then there's not much place for him at a club with a number of black players in the squad, is there? Whether he's actually racist or it was heat of the moment, he's shown a side of himself that isn't very pleasant. We've all seen the rage that overcomes him from time to time - tell me that he wasn't looking to offend Lescott and Howard. Load of shite. Let's not try the "What about calling someone ginger?" argument or any of its derivatives. I dont think thats what he was talking about Ok, what was he saying then? I think the stance that he's taking is fairly clear. It's the same misguided one you seem to be taking.
