Whoa! Happy Birthday to you too then Swiss fella!
-
Needs Wacky to take him on some sort of midget boot camp tbh. "Only two things come out of Nigeria, son. Email scam artists. And queers. Now which one are you?"
-
7 players with Premiership experience, of which two look decent (Moore and Taylor). Aye you can see why we didn't bother signing any defenders in the window like.
-
I'd be sending Martins down the gym tbh, cos he looked like an under 14s against Mellberg and Knight so far. I mean it was literally like watching a man playing against a boy. It will take a while for him to adapt to the pace of the game, but if you're little and you're going to get overpowered, what's to adapt to? He looks very lightweight to me. We should make him wear a muscle suit under his shirt to give the defenders something to think about.
-
There's nothing to criticise re Martins, but equally there hasn't been a lot to praise. Telling us that they'll make a good partnership when there was literally NOTHING to support that statement is idiotic and it doesn't do Roeder any favours. Saying he's hopeful, I wouldn't have a problem with. Saying the evidence is there for all to see is bullshit. Re the bit you just added to your post re signings we missed out on, plenty people were saying we should be getting these players while the window was open, whilst you maintained your "I trust Glenn, all will be well." stance. Who turned out to be right that time?
-
Ramage is awful at left back. I would have played Bernard with no match fitness or Zog at left back ahead of Ramage. Like JawD says, the way they skipped past him for the first goal, we literally may as well have had 10 men on the pitch. Mind, Zog's crossing at the weekend was desperado.

I've still only seen Kuijt's debut for 30 odd minutes for Liverpool, but he looked exactly right to replace Shearer. I still have a lot of faith in Martins, but I think I realised Roeder was a bit of a mentalist with that whole fiasco. I know he's gone to a team with a lot more confidence than us, and with much better players than us all over the park which helps (oh and a proper manager and coaching setup too), but he's certainly adapted quicker. Whether there is more of a marked difference between Italian/Prem and Dutch/Prem, I don't know, but I would have thought it was Kuyt that was being asked to make the bigger step up.

The two best players the world has even seen, Maradona and Pele, were both small. I rest my case. Corbett and Corbett tbh.
-
Aye, clapped off and clapped the fans back. Not sure what gimpy Glenn is on about tbh. I'm also not sure what he's on about where he says he "saw enough to suggest that Shola and Oba will make a very successful partnership." Now I'm all for talking the players up, but not at the expense of something remotely resembling the truth.

It was like this when we played the 5-a-side at Eldon Leisure, but me and peasepud adapted our game to the fact that we had SLP and Papa Laz in the team.
-
I don't think that's true at all tbh.
-
Ham and peasepud sarnies. Proper peasepud. Not the poster above. That would be obscene.
-
West Ham's squad was pissing all over ours even before they got Tevez and Mascherano tbh. How ugly is Tevez though?! You know on The Fly where the fly gets into his teleporting machine? Tevez looks like what would happen if you put Dennis The Menace and Taz into it.
-
The SJH singing section should have been singing "Signed some defenders. You should've signed some defenders" on Saturday tbh. Normally I wouldn't think this sort of thing would need pointing out, but at the minute the fans seem to be the only ones to have twigged on to this glaring fact.

I expect the following at least to finish above us: ManU Arsenal Chelsea Spurs Liverpool Villa Pompey Boro Everton Bolton West Ham Europe isn't happening next year. Worryingly, it's difficult to argue that I could see us finishing above any of those listed. Any and every game we go into we are at the mercy of the back four, and I would expect them to let us down more often than not even in games we should win (like the weekend).

Just had a look there and we have 19 league games between now and when the window re-opens (I've included Man United on New Year's Day cos that pretty much counts as the window still being closed). We could be in serious trouble by then. I don't mean relegation necessarily, but certainly bottom half of the table and needing a lot of work to get into the European spots - I think the standard of other teams has improved in the close season to the point where 15 to 7th revivals are not going to be quite as easy as they were last season too. I blame the transfer window. Nobody likes it you know. It's not just Roeder. (According to his programme notes at the weekend )

Did you go to an all girls school?
-
You couldn't make it up, could you? Man management, Glenn? Heard of it?
-
Aye, it needs sorting tbh. Re O'Neill, the way Villa are playing and picking up points at the minute, I'm beginning to rue that one. With a bit of cash to spend he could make things happen there. It's so frustrating how left-behind we are becoming through Shepherd's incompetence. If we're going to make that work, Duff needs to be told to stick to the wing a bit more IMO. He spent far too much time operating as a central midfielder and not enough time skinning the full back on the wing. I was pleased we played like that though, although I can see it getting changed back in the next game with Zog missing out to Solano.

Exactly. Keith Lamb announced at the press conference that Villa held that afternoon that there was no way Viduka was leaving. As far as I can remember, this happened before Milner was recalled. So it looks like the first we heard of this was when Lamb announced it to the press. Now wouldn't you have thought we would have done the sensible thing and made an inquiry? Don't get me wrong like, people make mistakes in their jobs and things get done incorrectly - I do it all the time, but we do it far too often and on far too public a stage, and with things that would be very simple to do correctly, this being the perfect example. By the way, to then leave him completely out of the squad for Saturday's game was just insult to injury IMO.

Watched all that stuff in the NWC. One fat bloke was led down the stairs, and a kid who looked to be about 12 was also told to leave his seat, although I think the coppers just wanted the story of what went on from him from what I can gather. Two blokes along my row were having a right go at one another too - one said the linesman should have told the ref that someone was down injured and stop the play. The bloke in front said it wasn't the linesman's job to do that. As you can understand, when someone challenges you on a crucial matter like this, your only response is to go ABSOLUTELY BERSERK at them. They both went mental at one another (both big meaty shaven-headed blokes with rolls of fat in the back of their heads). I thought at one point that they'd passed the point of no return and were going to have to start hitting one another, but somehow it fizzled out. Yes I saw that bloke like, what an idiot. Just because Martins hadn't scored a hat-rick in the first 20 minutes. Bloke to the right of me 5 rows in front went mental after Fulham scored there 2nd goal and alot of the fans left. I didn't agree with them leaving but didn't bother me, this bloke sat there swearing his head off at them. Aye, heard him too. He had a point but he just looked like a tit the way he made it really. I stayed 'til the end in silence after the 2nd goal so I'm no better tbh. Aye, his mate kept on trying to put his head over his mouth. French kissing him to shut him up. It's a novel approach. Right, I officially don't like this adding your re-post to the previous post thing.

I still think we were right to pass on Woodgate, despite his performance at the weekend, cos I think he's odds on to pick up an injury soon. Campbell was just stupidity though. I could understand the "he's not played enough games" thing if we'd brought someone else in instead, but a top class defender who hasn't played many games is still better than absolutely knack all. Hasselbaink was more stupidity - see he scored against the champions at the weekend. Good work, Glenn. We did well to stay clear of that particular FREE proven Premiership goalscorer. TEST.

Private show later , usual time, the password is "so it is", so it is. Will you be wanting the bag pipes this time? No bagpipes = no show tbh. Reminds me of an Irish lad I used to work with - brought his bagpipes to America with him ffs. Ginger, from cork, thick as mince. Used to play his bagpipes at an Irish pub on a Friday night.

The bullshit machine is working then.

He pressed a button on his dashboard and blades came out of the side of his tyres, mangling his opponent's car. It'll either be that or the infamous "Oil Slick" button.
