It definitely works better with the cable. Using it wirelessly causes my phone to get hot as fuck and it's hard on the battery. Of course my 0.996l Focus comes with a wireless charging pad, which helps with the latter. 😏

And my Focus is 0.996 litres, actually.

It won't work wirelessly initially. You'll have to plug in to the USB and you'll get something pop up on your phone. When you're sorted, you can reroute that £40 a year to me. And I'd like a public apology thread.

You're not having to crack the OS man. They come preloaded now so that they work with Android Auto and Apple Play. My 2019 Focus had it and so does my 2022 one. I suspect if you plugged your phone into your car via USB you'd have the world of Android Auto suddenly opened up to you.

That thread title will cost us a result here. I've never been more certain of anything in my life.

It's fucking great man, you get in the car, start it, and Android Auto is on your screen. Big Google maps, then you can access all your music, podcast, audible, etc all on the screen. It's formatted properly, like it's an entirely different experience - they're not just showing you your phone in landscape or something. It's way better than whatever your car comes shipped with cos it's Google. Just as I'm sure Apple Play is better than the stock car offering too.

I don't think that's right about the recruitment team. It clearly wasn't anything like public knowledge and there's probably only him and a couple of those close to him knew about it, all with a huge vested interest in keeping it quiet. That is actually bollocks. I've only got a Ford Focus but it works with Android Auto - initially wired, but now wirelessly too, and no cost. Basically your phone but looking fancy on the car screen.

Are you insured through the lease company like? Why would their excess come into play? When I was in Keswick some little fat ginger prick of a kid was riding his bike round the caravan site in a storm and ploughed into the side of my car (lease also). They paid so I should have just taken it to Ford and let them rip the piss out of this kid's dad, but I got it done on the cheap.... Not a great job. For 18 months I would stand at the front window staring at the ripples in the paintwork, convinced they were gonna spot it when I took it back in to hand over. When I went to hand it back, I picked a space that was between two cars so the sun wouldn't be directly on it, and watched in horror from the showroom as both drove away before they went out to check on it. Anyway they didn't spot a fucking thing but I was low level stressed about it for 18 month.
