It isn't more than Rafa or Wenger though is it? Its £2m a year less than Sven was on at England and didn't Houllier rule out coming here?
-
1, 3 if there is a stupid release clause and 4.

Fred didn't look at anyone else now or back then Speculation. Don't see what the problem is either, Freddy identified someone he thought was good enough when he sacked SBR, we havent been able to get him, he has got better during that time and has become available. That's the point. You honeslty think Fat Sam is the one to improve on 3rd? We shall see, he has certainly made a huge difference to Bolton in this time there and has shown an ability to build, plan and improve. No doubt if we dont finish in 2nd next season you will claim he has failed.
-
Who is that then? Viduka's getting on now aint he? plus he's fat, although that seems to be the trend at SJP these days. If your fat your in! 28 starts, 17 goals and 5+ assists this season. Yep we are too good for that shite!

I'd take both of them. Get rid of Emre and Duff. Wouldn't fancy the risk of Barton kicking off, we couldn't sell Duff until January and I would like him to be given a chance under Allardyce. Ljungberg just seems a crock and hasn't looked anything near his old form whenever I have seen him.
-
We have Big Sam now (or soon). He'll sort it out. And I did say up to £10m for Parker. We signed him for £6.5m and, although he has his doubters on here, the rest of the Premiership thinks he's been great for us. We got £5m for Jenas (who's now being rumoured with a £10m(!) move to Everton) so I'm sure we could get more for Parker. I'd also expect to make a profit on Oba if he was sold. We got about £9m with clauses for Jenas
-
FS always backs his managers [/leazes] I would be amazed if that figure is anywhere near the real figure. I guess it includes the £9m for Owen though. Think it included £25m altogether from player sales.

People on N-O are seriously arguing he has gone there to get games
-
What facts are these then? They all seem made up to me. It was fairly obviousy whyI brought Allardyces record into it but if you can't read or understand things maybe its a waste of time trying to get you to.
-
Ljungberg is way too injury prone for my liking and not exactly what we are desperate for at the minute. Barton is a head case!
-
Aye but stop replying to him. The guy is an obvious piss-taker, just trying to rile us up with mindless shite, and answering what passes for his arguments only fuels the fire. I was having fun but ok
-
Aye its baseless, show me quotes from each of our appointments after SBR to say we tried to get Allardyce. Even if you can this thread is shite. You claim Shepherd has wanted Allardyce since SBR was sacked, Allardyce has gone on to improve Bolton and gain more experience yet you claim we are settling. We were linked to two other managers ,one who ruled himself out, one who hasnt worked in club football for 7 years and (again baseless) you claim Shepherd is settling and hasn't looked at any other options. All shite tbh.
-
The point being you accept Allardyce now over other preferred candidates because of our supposed situation, whereas Fred wanted Sam all along because he thinks he is the man to win the Premiership. He wanted him after Robson failed to improve on 3rd, and he wanted him now without looking for anyone else (or even worse double-crossed his current manager to get him). Why this is I don't know, though I have heard it that Fred won't appoint another 'foreigner' after the Gullit fiasco. Basically when I opened the thread it went like this: "I DON'T WANT ALLARDYCE SO I AM GOING TO KEEP SPOUTING A LOAD OF SHITE IN NUMEROUS DIFFERENT THREADS SO PEOPLE REALISE I DON'T WANT HIM, IF EVERYONE HAS GOT THE POINT I WILL KEEP DOING IT, COMING UP WITH MORE AND MORE TEDIOUS, BASELESS POINTS BECAUSE I CAN"
-
Even if you didn't know before, one look at this thread and it would be nailed on that Meenzer is "one of them".. I have my suspicions about a few others aswell, wheres Dantheman btw?
-
The point is because Shepherd has wanted Allardyce for a long time then its a lazy signing. So its a shit signing, or something..
-
Its Allardyce* *ITK tbh.
-
He had 30 backroom staff, how many of them follow him here is another thing altogether. If he is as dodgy as you make him out to be I am sure he will keep in touch with a few.
-
Given he has something like 30 backroom staff I would guess he has a couple of scouts.
-
Felching? Rimming? Cottaging
-
He must have some contacts because the rate he picks up random players who come in and perform is pretty regular. Unless he plays a lot of FM. So you just presume he has all these contacts then? How many of these unknown players has he gone out and scouted or have they been brought to the club by their agent for a trial because they know Sam will slip them a brown envelope if the player is any good. Pretty much the same way I assume Wenger has contacts. Allardyce must spend a hell of a lot in these brown envelopes if all his deals are done that way.
-
I'm not glossing over it, he's spent biggish money on two players, one of them he had on loan before completing the deal, that doesn't mean every signing he spends big money on will be great, as I've stated above all managers who spend big over time make the odd flop signing, Allardyce won't be any different. I'm really not sure what point you're trying to make here. The point is you make out he will crumble when given a decent budget and my point is the few times he has been given money to spend he has spent it very wisely. You have made excuses as to why he did will spending that money which suggests to me you are just looking at any possible reason to discredit Allardyce in anything he may have done well at. Where have I said he will crumble? Ok you make out he will do the same as Curbishley and have no idea how to spend it. Was it Curbishley who wasted the money or was it Dowie? (geniune question btw). I never said he'll do the same as Curbishley, I said there is nothing to suggest he won't, he's only signed one player for more than £5 million and that was a "no brainer" because Anelka is a proven quality player. Your whole point was that Houllier had signed flops in the transfer market, I pointed out that any manager that deals with big money transfers will sign the odd flop here and there, when Allardyce comes here it's 99% that not all of his signing will work out, that's the way it is. I'm not sure what you're on about with Dowie as my point about Curbishley is referring to his time at West Ham. I edited the point about Dowie as I read your post wrong the first time round. If Curbishley looks to have kept West Ham up then I don't think the hammers fans will look down on his signings that much (although Upson was a complete waste). Yes I said Houllier had signed a lot of flops because he has (it wasn't "my whole point either", the way Thompers was talking it seemed like it was suggesting he hadn't. I wasn't slating Houllier just stating he had made some mistakes as other managers have. The fact you brought up Curbishley to me says you are suggesting Allardyce may do the same, bascially having a dig for something that hasn't happened. Allardyce probably has one of the best success rates in the premiership, he has a lot of contacts and its not his fault he hasn't been given the opportunity very often to spend any real money but on the few occasions he has he has done well. He may do the same, he may not, until he's given the chance we don't know how he'll do, I'm not knocking him for something that hasn't happened I'm pointing out it could go either way. Allardyce has the best success rates at what? Also what are all these contacts he has? He must have some contacts because the rate he picks up random players who come in and perform is pretty regular. Unless he plays a lot of FM.
