i'd agree that spending 5m on duff couldve been better spent on a defender in the short term. but what about long term? how long will it take the club to recoup that 5m in merchandising? who will our left sided midfielder next season and the season after that? how long would huth have lasted before the fans were on his back (a la bramble)? Spending 5m now on a great midfielder may mean that next season we can send more on a better defender (than say huth at 5m). say next season, how much would a player of duffs ability cost? 10m? 15m?

No - wimbledon wernt a big club. Our season ticket sales, the stadium capacity, the players we can attract etc etc is just potential. we havnt jumped that final hurdle in terms of winning trophies. when i think of a big club i think of man utd (who have a global reach, regularly compete for each trophy etc etc) or chelsea (who thanks to mr abramovitch can buy a world class manager, a world class team and world class facilities and can then win trophies). We are a big club in the little pond that is the north east i'll agree to that. i think were still a sleeping giant tbh.

Arnt they rolling out this new facial recognition software? So the camera operator know who you are and can cross ref you in the police database, the new id database etc etc etc. The whole thing is completely dodgy if you ask me. in future, the police will be catching criminals by watching cctv footage and then 'swooping' on them.

I would tend to agree however this sounded like Nobby had had a few drinks and once he'd got started then he just didnt stop ranting! maybe he was gutted that milner never left - him and duff can play in his position.

In my oppinion the Loyalist paramilitaries were as bad as the IRA, INLA etc. The government of NI was not exactly democratic even in the 70s. The Protestants could vote, but not the Catholics. It's incredible to think this went on in the UK in the not so distant past. The Catholic community in NI was also shafted in terms of public services, cases of young, single Protestants moving out of home getting council houses straight away, ahead of Catholic families who'd been waiting years etc. The fact is that with NI, both the Republicans and Loyalists had/have valid points, and now they're starting to recognise that, which is why they're making progress. The Terrorists though were scum - IRA and UDA. I'll not lie, I've always found myself more sympathetic to the Republicans, but I think the IRA were scum. i was always under the impression they were as bad as each other.

He used to sit near me on L4, more the NW corner really but he's got an exceptionally loud voice. I think the piss poor atmosphere put him off though so he's sacrificed his view to sit in L7. I can't see him but still hear him behind me. He does his research like. If the opposition keeper's foreign he'll say dodgy keeper in his native language.
