I did. You don't have to be a mental giant to see that the signs were in place and although I didn't do it at 14/1 I should've done. Once it was evident that Ba was going and we clearly had no plan for a replacement, then you'd be a mug not to have a bet on it. Ba leaving was the final blow but all signs pointed to a team that was going down before that. I've certainly wasted enough money betting on Newcastle over the years, so I might as well get some back. But I'd rather lose out and we stay up,of course.

I've never seen remy play so I have absolutely no idea what he's like. The thing I do know is that we need a forward who can hit the ground running. We don't have the luxury of of signing a player who needs a year to adapt to the premier league and life in Newcastle or he'll be playing in the championship. Unless he has a release clause covering relegation, which may very well happen if pardew doesn't get the team to get it's act together.

I'm surprised you've just noticed this run of games. Its the reason I said last week after the defeat at Stoke that if we don't pick up the pace,we'll be in the bottom four by the end of the year. People were more interested in saying that Pardew is doing a fantastic job rather than seeing what may well occur.

I'd have brought on Ferguson at some point as Gutierrez was woeful, especially in the 2nd half. Perch had a decent 1st half but disappeared in the 2nd so I might have brought marveaux on just to shake up the bag. I agree Pardew did not have a lot of options but he did have some and chose not to use them. WTF is the point of having marveaux on the bench and using a player like ranger? Ranger was hardly going to put himself about against Huth and Shawcross. Then again, given past performances, WTF is the point of having marveaux on the bench (rhetorical)

He probably couldn't make his mind up who take off as he was spoilt for choice. So he did nothing until it was too late. My point was that that pair of subs. was tantamount to throwing in the towel. One thats not ready for the premier league and one that shouldn't be anywhere near the premier league.

I don't need to read the match thread, I saw the game. You can hardly argue that bringing on these two was a tactical ploy in the 85th minute. It was a roll of the dice.
